that’s one way to look at it. Quality vs quantity. LC is well known and is Toyota iconic vehicle.

Japan’s 2uz is better than 2uz assembled elsewhere too.

I’m in the market for a URJ200 in color white. Once that is acquired, my white mall crawler GX470 will be for sale. I can’t justify paying 60k+ for a used 2016 ATM. Maybe in a few years.

Claiming lemon status and then saying plenty more will have these problems is paradoxical.

That's a ludicrous statement by todays standards. Any of them.

10K oil changes claim another one. Was never worth the supposed savings of what ? $60 a year?

My 2017 is on its second engine, 1st made it 145k. Single owner, 5k oil changes. It happens, nothing much else to say. I don't think Toyota is suddenly shit because of it. No brand has 100% of its vehicles stand the test of time. I don't think there is a better choice out there. Nissan gets a lot of hype, but they are ugly.

My '17 has 92k miles on it, 2nd owner.
Mechanically it's been pretty solid so far.
The paint is failing in areas due to the Super White paint bullshit...
    I had a mouse damage a harness....and it's been in 2 minor accidents....
Other than that just trying to drive it and enjoy it.
It seems to be breaking in nicely though.
I hope I can keep it a long time and put over 200k on the bitch lol...
If it doesn't rust out too fast....o_O
    and TGIF!!!! :rasta::cheers:

I don’t know but the way I see people drive now , it’s a wonder these cars even last that long . I take a lot of these posts with a grain of salt . I’ve owned many Toyota s through the years and some Nissan stuff as well. I’ve never had any major issues . So was I lucky ? Maybe but I tend to doubt it . People drive all these trucks like they are driving in a race . A race to go no where . Maybe if they would get up a little earlier or leave earlier , they could relax a little while before the start doing what they are rushing too. This way they don’t beat the hell out of there vehicles.

Well thats a new one. It absolutely has an impact, just as neglect/lack of maintenance does. Both are true.

I can mess up a brand new car/truck, any make/model, with less than 100 miles on it in 30 minutes or less.

My '99 has 245K the engine is still good, have replaced a lot of supporting parts which started around 220K. Could have another ~100k left in it. but ready for an upgrade. I think overall Quality has slipped a bit with 3ed Gen and 2nd Gen prices are crazy. Guess I'll just keep repairing this one.

How you drive absolutely can have a negative impact, trust me I’ve worked on many cars, trucks and construction equipment and I’ve repaired motorcycles and off road stuff and I am still an avid rider . I am definitely a gear head . Most people that don’t know about how mechanical things work can destroy a vehicle quickly . Maintenance is of course the other piece of the puzzle . Lots of people especially during rush hour are dangerous. Factor in bad weather and they are even more dangerous then add a electronic device into the mix , and oh boy. How is it my niece burns up brakes in 15-20 k miles ? Yet I replace my brakes at 60 ish k .

    i went over 100k a month ago.
just started having some AC issues. Probably an actuator.
knock wood, thats about it other than a self inflicted issue with a CV joint.
Ive towed a 3500 lb camper a few times probably totaling 1200 miles.
2nd owner. bought at about 45k miles.
