I am going to replace the lower ball joints on my 1st gen 2wd Tacoma. The shop manual has an illustration of a tool that resembles a wheel puller, SST 09628-62011. Does anyone know where you can get this tool, or one like it? I have a fork, but i don't want to wake up the neighbors.

Did that. The threads on the tool stripped without it separating the joint. I returned it to the store. I'd really like to know what that Toyota SST is.

This is THE Toyota Tools and Equipment Store. Some of their tools are made by SnapOn, but I've found the majority of them are made by Bosch/OTC which is why a lot of the OTC kits have tools that look strikingly similar to the official SSTs. The link below is for the tool you seek. Hold on to your wallet...

It's likely not going to come out with just the puller. Soak it good the night before with PB blaster, have a BAH on hand. Get the ball joint under pressure of the puller, and begin impacting around the joint where it goes into the A-arm. Impact is your friend, I had a heck of a time with tie rod ends and almost gave up.
