There's another page, something about software, that shows the software version you have. I think in a 22 it should have the latest but maybe not and you can download fimware on a thumb drive and update. It might even let you reload it. And did you do try the factory reset?

    EDIT

Here's the place to download the fimware and there's instructions on how to do it and where to look for your version. I've done several of thses updates and it's very straight forward

Thanks r81984 for posting the entire lot of updates. Factory site says my radio should be a 13TDANNA-DA11 but it's actually a 13TDANNA-DA21. Again, making us more aware of our vehicles. So far the update has worked fine for me. Now for the maps....

Thank you for posting the update! I went from 01019A to 0101A5 without issue in my 2019.

How do I know which update to use I just recently purchased a used 2017 TRD Off-Road 6 speed Manual, pretty sure its the Entune premium has cd player and SD card slot. Model said 13TDANNA-DA11 but according to the latest post it shows more than one KWI file for that model?

Just an update for anyone else with my issue: finally made it into the dealership. New head unit is on order. They tried the software update on their end too and decided it just needed to be replaced

According to the Toyota website I posted above, 10192 is the latest audio update. I assume you have built in NAV as the model # you posted is for NAV

For all the Canadians asking about nav map updates for newer Tacos, this is what I got from Toyota Canada yesterday...

    ——————————————————
We can confirm that your vehicle is equipped with Embedded Navigation and updates are done at a Toyota dealership. We would like to further advise that your 2022 Tacoma 4x4 Double Cab 6M SB is eligible to receive 3 total complimentary navigation updates that must be completed at your preferred Toyota dealership and must be used within three years of the Warranty Registration Date of March 7, 2022 or 60,000 km whichever comes first. We kindly suggest contacting your Service Department to book an appointment.
    ——————————————————

Unfortunately, my Toyota dealer doesn't seem to know what they are doing when it comes to map updates, and I'm at 59000 km's. I'm trying to get them on the right page this week.

We're headed in the right direction. Booked in for the map update on Monday.
We'll see how it goes, and I'll post before and after versions next week.

Thanks for sharing this. I let this slide unfortunately. However, we mainly use Waze or Google maps in Apple CarPlay. We use the built in nav once in a while.

    Itz JDM tyte, yo!
I’ve always thought Waze is better for navigation compared to the built-in navigation

Waze is always on for me even though I don’t have a destination selected

Waze is my default 99% of the time. There were a few times we were in an area where Waze or Google maps were not working due to cell coverage or in the city where they are having a moment. The built in Nav helped. We were surprised. I know there is the offline feature for Waze/Google but was for lack of planning/laziness. But that's been rare occurrences.

    So...
The Tacoma went back in to the dealer last Monday for the map update. They had the vehicle for just under 6 hours before calling to let me know everything was done.

    Map version before update:
    07-71-50 [2021-03-0]

    Map version after update:
    05-73-50 [2023-03-0]

Tested the new maps on a drive from Alberta to Colorado this week. Everything seems accurate and up to date.

    So...
If you bought a Canadian Tacoma, keep in mind that the map updates are complimentary (free) for 3 years, or 60,000 Kilometers (max 3 upgrades).

This is confirmed for the 2022 models and likely the same for the 2023. Not sure about the 2024 and newer. Check with your dealer, and don't let them give you the runaround. If in doubt, contact Toyota Canada for confirmation.

I have a 2019, swapped to a Entune3(Carplay without Nav) head unit, not sure what year.

It shows 1790 under "software update" menu, is this the most current version?

If you check and matched your Model ID number from here:https://www.toyota.com/firmware-updates/download

Yes,, the latest software is 1790 for 2020-2022. There’s no updates for 2023.

    I also have a 2019.
AUDIO software with/without NAV 20-23 are all the same. The NAV module has separate software updates. Here’s my 2020 with NAV module:

FYI if you have a flash drive larger than 32gb, you need to create a smaller 32gb fat32 partition or it will not apply the update. I just updated my 21 Tacoma due to the new apple update breaking CarPlay and the file system issue took me a few min to figure out, exFAT was NOT working.

Is this still the latest update for 13TDANNA-DA11? 0167.kwi/101A7? I'm sorry I don't know where to find the latest updates. My head unit is still cycling off and losing am/fm. Updating to 101A7 made it much better for a few months and now it's back to before. Almost constantly cycling off almost never has radio reception.
