Having the right equipment and careful loading/setup has a lot to do with comfortable towing.

You wouldn't think 2 psi in the rear tires would make much of a difference in how the combination feels, it was working fine before but felt "tighter" with the additional air.

My old F-250 made towing (almost) effortless, the truck weighs 6600 pounds on curb so even a heavy trailer can't push it around much, it always felt incredibly confident no matter what the conditions.

The Tacoma is surly more work to tow with, you need to be on your game.

Towing adds an element of stress. It definitely keeps your head on a swivel.

I do an 850 mile camper drag 2x/ yr. Pay no attention to the cats that want to travel 85 thru the cities and it gets easier.

My 68 mph is just fine.

that last one is sadly becoming more common. my friends camper got screwed up last year from a repo-tow truck merging like that with a vehicle on the hook. the towed vehicle clipped their bumper, almost a reverse-pit maneuver, which sent the trailer swaying. fortunately, the truck was their old beater, so the damage it took didn't matter(front bumper, and quarter panel, which shifted backwards into the door), but it was a few thousand in repairs to the camper...

seems ever since covid, when everyone got off the roads for some time, everyone drives even more crazy than they did before.
