Been thinking about taking advantage of the 25% off Toyota parts sale and picking up the black chrome exhaust tip.

Does anyone here have either the black chrome or standard chrome tip and if so, have you had any issues with it falling off while driving?

I saw one comment on another platform that mentioned this issue, but I believe the exhaust tip was an aftermarket one and not the actual Toyota one. Figured I'd ask before buying lol.

    Thanks all!

I installed the chrome one over a year ago and all is well. Still on there rock solid.

It's bolted on. It won't come off unless you take it off. That being said, the black chrome one's finish is coming off a bit after less than a year on

Oh yikes, that's disappointing. Maybe I'll just go for the standard chrome one lol. Thanks for letting me know!

No problems with it falling off, I took my black one off during the first few days of ownership. Removed it for a few reasons - didn't want to damage it and I was going to (haven't yet) cut back the tail pipe quite a bit so any rocks I hit would not force the exhaust up into the fender.

I have the black chrome and the fit and finish is flawless. I highly recommend either one of the OEM tips they look great!

The tip isn't going to fall off. I had a black tip. It's not black chrome it is painted so it's not resilant to wear. One thing I notice is that not having rear mud flaps causes a majority if not all the wear. When I installed the TRD exhaust with the black tip I also installed rear mud flaps. I stiil have the old tip too. A sand blaster and some good paint would probably make it better than new as the paint that comes on it seems a little thin.

Silly accessory, but no it won't fall off assuming you install it correctly.
