This is where my head is……..i did an in-person interview/skills test for a local county job(i have applied to several) yesterday that i feel went pretty well. Those that i know personally who work for the county and even one of the skill test administrators told me that if i get hired on there’s lots of jobs that are posted internally. If i get offered a job and the pay is even close to what I was making at the last job, im gonna take it…..a foot in the door will hopefully lead me to landing on both feet in a job with the county that i want to do. I know they have semi’s to drive as i saw them while i was there.

 

Back to work tomorrow. Been sick most of my vacation, on antibiotics. Feeling better tho. Wish I could have burned sick leave instead of vaycay.

 

Yeah I've been fighting some kind of respiratory thing too for a week.

Nope, still feel like crap. Mucus in my lungs is really thick and hard to get out. Taking mucinex, it's helping, still really weezy.
But I'm at work, 5 days this week. I have a doctor's appointment on Thursday morning, new doctor. I haven't had a doctor for better than 15 years.

 

No like here.

 

Job search update: talked to the county today and they came up $1.50 more an hr. I told them if its there I will take roll off driver position, foot in the door. Next step drug test/ background check. Willing to try any drug they ask.

 

For the background check...don't let them know you know us (TW)!

 

Right, but it's ok I've known the boss since highschool so there's that. Waiting on HR to get with me. The background check should come back fast since I have all the funny stuff going on with my license with a lot of letters.

 

Send some of those to @woodtickgreg. Sounds like he could use some! oh, and good luck!

Welp got offered a whse job today.
Pays $5.00 more than the county job and insurance is $42.00 every 2 weeks.
Waiting on the county job to get back to me about bringing pay up.

 

That's a good position to be in.
