Getting older sometimes sucks. It seems every week we have a new ache or pain, or diagnosis of a new medical impairment.Or a new prescription. I notice my energy levels have diminished from what they were just a couple years ago. A lot of things I just can’t do anymore like deer hunt. The area I hunt is high elevation and very rugged. My back just can’t handle it. A few mountain lakes I use to day hike into to fish are too tough a hike now. I notice as I get older my patience with dumb asses, jerks and shit heads has diminished to close to zero. Was never that patient with those people to begin with. I always think about us like cars, the older and more miles the more things break, fail and wear out. I use to feel like a shiny new corvette, now a days it’s more like a 1948 Ford pick up with a bad starter and bald tires. Ya gotta be tough though to deal with all the crap of getting older. Well it’s almost nap time and after that I have to run to the pharmacy to pick up a prescription. I run into more friends in line at the pharmacy than almost anywhere else. Be well, stay safe.

    Sucks sometimes? More like daily!

I definitely miss my old energy levels and strength. I was always short on patience but it's certainly gotten worse. Night vision keeps getting worse and that really sucks. Getting old is not for the weak!

I forgot about night vision thing. I still drive at night but it’s getting a little more challenging. Country roads and freeways no problem but cities with thousands of different lights and colored lights definitely becoming more stressful.
    You are right, sucks daily.

Well, I’ve had both done. First was a psychological issue for me but turned out fine. Second was just a step and repeat. Nice thing about the hip joint is it’s a large joint without a huge amount of mobility, so it heals pretty fast. PT never worked worth a crap for me for the “befores”, just be sure to go through it all afterwards so you recover as much ROM as possible.

End of the day, was the best thing for me on both of them. Good luck!

It’s old things might go bad; but that hard to find old Ford pickup still has its own collector appeal and merit. :fistbump:

Installer called yesterday... gutter guards install today. Good weather day for that. Glad to get it done now, before leaves start falling.
I have to go to our local hospital today, try to find a blood test order that was faxed to them yesterday, get the test, get the results faxed back. This has screw-up written all over it. I'll take my wife with me... she has more patience than I do. Only just found out they need it. Come on people... communicate! This will probably delay my surgery. Getting old isn't for sissies.

Morning kids :hattip:yes embracing the older age crap. It takes longer to get the motor running, but it still runs. So get out of the way you young punks, let grandpa show you how to change a light bulb. The medical challenges we face are enough of a pain in the ass, please don’t screw up the paperwork. Personally you can take your QR code and stick it where the sun don’t shine. I feel better now, enjoy your day folks :D:thumbsup:

Next Year, or did you mean September 6th? Either way hope the outcome is better than expected.

Good morning. Sure, do learn a lot about medical stuff in this thread. I think today we are replacing a 1X4 trim strip of wood on the big shed that one half of the door attaches to. There must be a lot of home improvement work going on in my area, Lowes did not have any 1X4X8 outside lumber in stock. Had to pick up a 1X4X10. I will be lobbying for Freitas or Tacos for dinner tonight. I have a skirt steak I would not mind grilling up.

Maybe it is a personal quirk--I have a real problem with passwords and the hassle of signing in to websites.

    Good Morning everyone :hattip:

Got my truck back yesterday after having the supercharger rebuilt . Spent most of the day cleaning it and it's shiny !!!

It's so nice to hear the supercharger when it's making boost , I missed that !!

I hate talking To a AI computerized or Automated phone systems . It's a hassle now to talk to a Customer service representative . Yesterday while calling autoclub for roadside service I found out its all automated now almost impossible to talk with a customer service representative

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Well, I was a sore sleeper last night, and I didn't even do the last couple of simple things I hoped to; flat wore out. Well, this week, I should get the rest of the answers for a plan. Being too bad off to even start a project is making me nuts.

Lions last pre-season game today - maybe will see some of the starters, but since the NFL Network will have Lions announcers, at least they will use names!

Thanks Rod. The back/hip MRI will determine where we go. I think my lower spine may be much the same, and we have to see what it may be doing nerve wise. As a proud owner of two replacement knees, all I can say to everyone telling me hips are much better: YIPPEE!

If that had a scoop, you wouldn't know the difference from your Camaro!!:thumbsup: Nice clean 1st Gen!

I get alot compliments and I've had quite a few people wanting to buy it . I bought the truck from the original owner in 2016 and paid $11k for it

:fistbump: I realized on my big errand this morning that I never "reset" the check engine after cleaning the MAF and filter cover. Well, I don't remember what I did last time, so maybe...... my head unit displays the code. Does it have a "reset"? It does, I did. Then I put the propane tanks out by the grill, loaded water softener, and I am DONE for the day. OK, some little putz, but no other chores.
Go Lions! It's so exciting up there they SOLD OUT SRO tickets for a pre-season game!

    Afternoon all:

Just got done with more string trimming, pretty well caught up now except for down by the pond, and that can wait!

Truck looks good Chuck, there are a couple around here like that that are in pretty good shape, but not many.

Just got done reading an interesting article on this, a Latham supercharger. I know where one of these is, first it was on a 327 in a 55 Chevy, then on another 327 in a 55 or 56 Chevy, then sold to another guy I know and has just been sitting in his garage for years, along with a 57 Vette that's in pieces , and a built 302 DZ motor that just sits there.

    A pretty rare item. [IMG]
