I am going to beg for more info.

Is the wiring plug and play; just matching the connectors on the Tacoma side to their mates on the new head unit? Or, is it cut off existing connectors and install new pins/connectors to match what is on the new head unit? Or, something in between? Something completely different?

With no instructions it would seem that there must be something that makes this "easy", if that's the right word.

I am also interested in how difficult it is to get all the wiring back into the dashboard when closing things up. With my current aftermarket head unit it there is absolutely no space left behind the unit what with all the wires for satellite radio (assumes that is supported on this new unit; you make no mention of it) as well as the wires for controlling the unit from the steering wheel; you make no mention of this either.

    Curiously yours,

    Jim

it’s plug and play. There’s just tons of connectors and adapters due to all the hardware it supports. As far as fitting it back into place, there was WAY MORE room behind the dash than with a standard double din unit.

I’ll be making another post in two or three weeks once I’ve really had time to learn the ins and outs of the unit. Pleasantly surprised so far.

How long did a 'quick polish' take? Mine have gotten so bad in the last year. They went quick!

That kit from Cerakote can do a good job. Did 2 vehicles with 1 kit in about 45 minutes. Certainly beat buying a new set of lights. I still need to pull the ones off my 09 and re seal them. Moisture gets inside anytime I wash the truck, or it gets a heavy rain.

About how many times can you polish a set before having to get new headlights? I’ve done mine a few times & it returns very quickly. Im not the best at it & was thinking of buying a new set

Switched over from carrying a 5lb ABC extinguisher (that ate up most of the space in the driver-side suicide door pocket) to a pair of 2.5lb Purple Ks. Went a little Gucci for mounting the one in the front of the cab.

Did you have to run a spacer with these wheels to clear the caliper?

After your post, I looked at some videos and invested $8 on a PlastiDip spray.
So much better finish and results than the overlay plastic version (that could not stick btw) I had before.

Thanks a lot for this recommendation @A.T.Hun
