In the detail shop for PPF of grill surround,full hood,front fenders,and side mirrors. Also had the front windows tinted to match the factory rears.
Decided to do my own ceramic to save a few bucks.Clay bar and light polish was done prior to application and hoping it last for at least a few years.

 

You did the ceramic before the ppf, right?

 

New to this group, just picked up my third Tacoma, a Trailhunter. First thing I did was remove the bed sports bar. Love the truck, significant difference from my 22 Pro. Look forward to getting ideas from the forum.

No the ceramic goes over the PPF

 

That’s the first time I’ve ever heard that.

 

That’s the only way I know it to be done. My 4th vehicle now with PPF and all 4 had ceramic applied over the PPF. It extends the life of the film and because of the properties of the ceramic the film would never adhere over it.

 

I was just putting money down and almost got the same Trail Hunter. I would have also removed the Fake chase rack thing. Good looking truck man. I ended up getting a SR5 with upgrade and cold weather package because my business sucks this year. I kept second guessing buying the trail hunter because my second gen Raptor was cheaper (although they aren’t any more). But then i keep thinking I should have got the Trail hunter instead because it might make me smile more.

 

i checked at my local dealer and they quoted me $1592. I won’t be getting anything from Toyota of Hopkinsville KY.
I went home and ordered them from a dealer in North Carolina for $915 + $125 shipping. They also claimed to have the hole plugs, we will see, they are backordered everywhere, blue tape is working great right now. Found a Bed step from Richmond, KY for $365 shipped. They are on back order everywhere. Got to shop around, it pays off!

I go to the island 3 or 4 times a month..I'll keep and eye out for the "TACO".

 

Not sure how many there are by you but I may have only seen about 5 or6 around here

 

Not many around here either...and the few I see are either black or underground. The dealer has a Terra Pro. Nice looking taco.

 

Possibly the 10th week in 2024?

Ditched the stock 245/70r17's for 265/70

 

No ceramic should come after, paint correction before ppf yes.
