    So many questions:
Where are you doing this project?
Are you expecting those gussets to hold a full roof load?
Any engineers stamp on this design?
What is the zoning on this property that you can build so close to all those structures?

I not a naysayer I am just very curious.

Thats why I don't live in town. This isn't my first rodeo, those gussets will hold, Glued and screwed, but I will be lagging a 2x6 alongside of every 4th collar tie if I use comp roofing, if I go metal, I won't.

@Christmas curious as to what area that pipe building is built in? Any snow load?

Probably a question that doesn’t have a simple answer but I’m gonna ask anyway! I have four wires running down to different electrical outlets through the kitchen soffit. I’m wondering how much it would be to pay an electrician to move the wires back into the 2x4s so I can remove the soffit and upgrade the cabinets. Any thoughts?

How much, I have no idea. Turn off the power and disconnect all the outlets, pull the wires out of the way and proceed with what you need to do. Wire nut the wire ends if you need to turn the power back on. As far as cost, plumbers and electricians charge the most due to fear of you screwing it up.

Pulling the wiring isn’t a great option because I assume it’s stapled and mainly because it needs to go right back into that spot to reconnect all the outlets. It just needs to be longer and put through a hole in the 2x4. Just kind of wish it was drillled that way to start.

Well what I would do is turn off breakers mark the outlet wires and cap off with wire nuts pull out of the way then when done replace and wire outlet back up and move on. Pretty simple.

going to need to call to get a quote from a local electrician.

there's a few different ways to go about it, but most of them are dependent on how the wires connect, and where they go. it also depends on how well-installed the romex it was from the beginning.

I can say almost for certain it was a pretty shitty install! Might just sell the house and start a new life! Just kidding I’m getting a quote and if it’s outrageous I’m just going to scrap the idea of taller cabinets.

Get 2 or 3 different quotes. On my 30 amp receptacle for the camper the first guy wanted $325, the second electrician done it for $100.

I had the receptacle box and breaker (about $30), $100 for him to come out and install it. Used about 5’ of wire.

Today is day 2 of kitchen remodeling at my rental, I had to use some ingenuity at the end of my cut to keep it from breaking away and it took me an hour to layout the sink hole… and I already trashed a Diablo carbide wood metal 32tooth blade but it came out very nice. Only a few things to button up then I’ll be back to playing on the weekends instead of working.

Is that the before or after picture? Code doesn't allow unprotected Romex. Should have used a bit of conduit or MC cable.

After, all my garage is unprotected. Maybe your code is different.

There's tons of unprotected in my basement. It's unfinished so maybe that's why it's OK.
