Guess I’m pulling for the 8 and the 45 to get wrecked.

Flash fire is not uncommon. 99 had something wrong with fuel connections to have that much fire. It is a closed system with the exception of the fuel spilled during fueling. That spilled fuel is what lit off but it should have burned out quickly.
There had to be a loose clamp or something under the trunk.

I’ve seen the old lug nuts do it but not exhaust.

42 could have ended up bad if it wasn’t for the removal of the grass.

Old exhaust was on passenger side. Now with it split it has torched off a couple times on pit road but nothing exciting enough for TV.
Still see the Trucks and Xfinity cars lighting off from the lug nuts.
I will find out from the fueler what went down when I see him in Watkins Glen. I'm guessing a loose hise clamp on fuel line or the vent line. There should not have been enough vapor inside to burn all the way around the track like that. Had to be a leak somewhere.

Two races in a row at super speedways with cars on their lid. 34 could have been 3.

Pretty violent hit. Suspending in your seat upside down and hitting a wall.

Steve Latarete said it…. NASCAR is going to look at this and last week and slow these cars down
