I think my days as a car/truck guy are over. I will just do my daily commute in my IS and be content with being an NPC

( insert fancy motivational speech here )….or…don’t be a pussy buck up buttercup and figure that shit out, quitters never win

plus you’ll have a hell of a time trying to sell it unless you delete this shit show of a build thread showing every prob you’ve had and find a buyer in a no smog state too:rofl:

    Lmfao facts.

I’ll let it sit for a while, till later this fall. Just need to prioritize things a little better and take a break from spending money on this thing.

Gotta keep my wife happy too, she’s not thrilled about this truck stranding us and how much I’ve been spending on it lol

fuck just getting caught up from like last week and was gonna say i think the reason mine went somewhat easily was because i was able to fab it myself...than kept scrolling pages and went from bad to worse...its like this truck is cursed with you, i feel like you've had the worst luck with this truck and i don't understand why...you really haven't cut any corners and seem to have a grip on what needed to be done...just sucks i guess. yeah hopefully let things cool down and get her sorted.

Sending good vibes from the east coast, you'll feel different in a few days. Happens to me all the time.

Is it possible your offroading on an old Indian burial ground or something?

Damn -- so bummed for you. I always looked forward to reading the latest updates as this has been such a great thread to follow. I know everyone is rooting for success here. Hopefully a bit of time away will help and this will get revived at some point in the future.

I appreciate it man, I’m sad to see it too. My daily just got totaled, wife and I are pretty banged up. My car guy days are over. Selling this thing, and gonna take my insurance check and just buy some NPC car. Something I won’t get attached to and won’t get sad over and won’t have to work on. I think an EV is calling my name.

Damn, that's brutal, sorry dude. I understand though... Cars are pain.

Get a racing sim, then you can drive sick cars as fast as possible without having to actually spend tons of money building and breaking them.

Cars have always been the biggest thing in my life, as far as hobbies, time consumers, personality, etc etc. it’s who I am, but after today dude, it’s not worth it. I’m 22 years old, married less than a year ago, my lifelong dream is to fly airplanes professionally. I’m still working towards my commercial license, and I think now is the time to hang up the gloves with cars.

I gotta be thankful to God that my wife and I weren’t injured more than we were. We’re going on our honeymoon next week.

Dezert trucks on IG. Gary Graham’s thing. A couple people are into it already but we’ll see. The truck needs work to rip again, and I put that in the listing at a reduced price. If it wasn’t pissing trans fluid, I’d probably sell it for 60k

Sorry to hear about the daily. Glad you're okay.

As for cars and their role in your life, even if you sell this build I have confidence that you'll end up back in something fun when the time is right.

    Adulting sucks sometimes....

Mods are currently being changed .....

Is it really 11 lbs for each corner if swapping from oem to these? That seems like a lot. Do you happen to know what the reduction just the rotor weight was from oem to the 12.88"? Curious what the rotating weight of that reduction is.
    https://www.wilwood.com/BrakeKits/B...oyota&model=Tacoma&option=4+x+4+(6+Lug+Wheel)

Although I keep forgetting our trucks only use fronts so it's a 22lb savings vs 44 lol.

If my driver side caliper winds up being the culprit (it's a little sticky right now but need to rule out the lines first) I'd like to just get the BBk for some weight savings. And my tires are almost expired on these so jumping up to some Volks will offset the weight of larger tires (going to 17 from 16). So I could still net a nice weight drop while replacing the worn out stuff.
