Well I finally went to a doctor after 15 years of not seeing one. I hate the whole medical community and a pill for everything mentality. My Betty has been insistent on me going to see a doctor. Ok I reluctantly went for a physical. Bloodwork, chest xray etc. Got a referral for a colonoscopy again. Do I want all the vaccines they say I need? Uh no. I'll get the tetanus vaccine but that's it, just because I work with my hands a lot. Blood pressure is up for the first time in my 64 years of life so a low dose med has been prescribed. Was supposed to be called in but the doctor dropped the ball and didn't call it in. And wasnt in on Friday to do it, maybe on Monday. Incompetent people piss me off. Wasted my time going to pick it up and the pharmacy said they never got the prescription. Grrr. Waiting to see the results of the bloodwork. And no I'm not taking any damn statins! Caused me a ton of problems in the past.

Rain gutter leaf guards installed yesterday. By the end of the day, leaves had started piling up on the screens. SOP. By the end of the day, all wind-blown clean. Perfect. I should have done this years ago.
Nice evening watching a movie my wife picked out. Grateful for any/all time together. Mariage gets better as it goes along, I think because we know our life together won't last forever. So we try to make the absolute best of it. Hotter than hammered hell today, next few. We'll hole up for the duration. There's no place we would rather be.

Good morning. Fixed the shed door yesterday, well the son did all the work, but I was tuckered out. Grilled up some flank steak on the Weber Kettle for Fajitas for dinner. Today is going over to my cousin's condo at noon. Should be an interesting gathering. Off to the gym then on to the farmer's market.

And more ways and directions for the inattentive to come after you. I avoid the cities after dark but it is eyesight related.

    Morning all:

Darn, couldn't resist!! Found a used Cabela's Super Slam fleece insulated jacket on E bay that looks to be in excellent shape and bought it. I have the same one, but it's a parka, and it's extremely warm and comfortable.
I only wear the parka to hunt when it's bitter cold and it has always kept me warm and dry, I treat it like it was gold, hopefully the shorter jacket is just as good, everything appears to be the same. Cabela's did have some really good hunting clothing, since Bass Pro acquired them, not so much!
Just thinking, it's coming from Texas, wonder if it was too warm for whoever bought it originally, it doesn't look like it was worn that much, and the tags look like new.

I agree a lot of BassPro stuff is shit. Cabelas stuff was always superior to BassPro . I have some 20 to 30 year old Cabelas waterfowl and upland parkas, fleece, sweaters etc. that is far superior to any BassPro things they ever made. Before Herters went out of business they had some great quality hunting and outdoor equipment too. When BassPro bought Cabelas I knew that was the death knell for Cabelas quality.

I used to be that way, go to the dentist on a regular basis, see my regular doctor every 4-5 years. Didn’t take anything, kept in shape, smoked for way too long, but overall was in great shape. Then a few years ago everything went to hell, seizures started, which causes other issues. I used to hate pills with a passion, now they keep me alive. At 67 what the hell do you do o_O

Off to local hospital this morning. Hopefully they have an order from my eye surgeon for a blood test, and something else I can't remember. I hope they can find the order. I'll take my wife along... safety in numbers haha.
If I live through that, I'll stop at CVS and pick up a script that's supposed to be ready.

A different perspective on Cabella's. I usually buy my cooking pellets from Cabella's. Great quality and at $9.99 a 20lb bag they are the least expensive option unless I can fine another pellet on a sale. If I buy 6 or more bags the shipping is free, delivered to my door.

Good morning. Off to the gym then I am going to tackle trimming back the shrubbery out front. Going to smoke a rack of ribs on the Weber Smokey Mountain, WSM, today for dinner.
