I’ve got a 2” lift on my taco which means the splash guards had to go. But I did find you can buy custom ones that fits 2” lift.

what’s your opinion? Are they worth buying to put on? I’d think over time water getting in the engine compartment and running down under the truck and frame wouldn’t be the best for my ‘09.

id just expect that I’d be pulling them off and back on to do repairs every time :fenforcer:

What splash guards are you referring to and why did they need to come off with a 2" lift?

IMHO the importance of splash guards depends on if you want the paint to look good behind the wheel wells. Off road tires pick up and throw rocks. Some people care a lot about looks/paint, some not so much.

I don’t think they will keep corrosive road spray off of anything if in the rust belt.

I think you're confusing the inner fender liners and splash guards. Splash guards are meant to keep water and dirt out of the engine bay.

OP I'm not sure why you think the splash guards have to be removed for a lift? I've never heard of anyone doing this and can't see why it would be necessary.

OK, thanks for the correction. I was thinking of what is often called a mud flap.

You need new ones for a body lift.
