It just means an unplanned upgrade to full-on coilovers if you do break the top hats.

Remember I was asking if your upper ball joint had any problems fitting well hears why mine was not fitting.

Yep. Fits. There new design has an upper hole and lower hole for the cotter pin.. plus it's longer.

 

^Cool, so this accommodates extra flange thickness if you added spindle gussets.

 

Yes it dose. But it looks funny installed

 

Is that tightened all the way? Seems like its meant to stick out to accomodate larger spindles for us?

 

^The boot is simply crimped higher on the stud. Previously the boot just rests on the spindle top surface and forms an exhaust path when you pump in grease.

 

It's tight. Just different. As mentioned the boots higher up if it stays there maybe will keep water ect. From entering in. Who knows.

Just in the off chance your all wondering...you can fit a 33 back under the 4th Gen Tacoma. We'll have to see how much it smashes off things.

 

Just FYI if anyone needs switches, harness connectors, wheels, spindles, windows, differential add tube, calipers or any other bits... I have many parts from 05 T4R that fit 2/3rd gen Tacoma as well. Send me a message, I also have OEM Tacoma 3rd gen belts, pulleys and other parts never installed that I'll be listing soon.

It is, mine gained additional 40K kms since overhaul and doing great.

If anyone is looking for 3rd gen OEM parts BNIB at a good price, I got some that I never ended up using. ^^

 

I downsized tires and it looks kinda goofy but they're only a hair smaller than my well-worn 255s and better in every other way
