Thoracic outlet surgery for torn nerves on that same shoulder

R/ knee replacement then a year later revision surgery on that same knee

    L/ Knee replacement

And in just over a week from now kidney surgery

Well my vacation was supposed to start Wednesday. It started early, I'm home sick as a dog and in bed. I hope the whole vacation isn't like this, I'm miserable.

I would get a second and third opining on that blood pressure. EVERY doctor I have gone to since I turned 55 has tried to put me on a "low dose" pill for that . My BP is 124/68 and they think that is slightly high. Resting heart rate is 64. No, no thank you. Not taking a pill so I can get a nother pill for what the first pill caused.
Best solution for A LOT of BP related issues is a daily 30 minute excercise walk. Not a leisurely stroll, but a good pace for you.

Well I took a covid test, it's positive. 2nd time for me. I hope it's not as bad as the first time. It's not down in my lungs so maybe it won't be so bad.
Headache, body aches, and fever seem to be the worst of it so far.

Unfortunately it’s likely you have Covid. We are currently seeing a large resurgence of Covid. Test yourself and plan to spend about a week to recover. The reason I say test yourself is that if positive you don’t want to go out around other people and spread it. For many people it is still a serious killer disease. People with lung disease like asthma and copd, people with heart disease, people with compromised immune systems and other diseases it is still potentially deadly. Take care Greg, wishing you a speedy recovery.

The blood pressure guidelines for normal and hypertensive changed in 2017. Normal or not hypertensive is now less than 120/80.
120 to 130 over 80 is considered mildly hypertensive. Those numbers do not require treatment unless you are at risk for coronary disease. A physician wanting to treat you for 124/68 is a little over zealous. I would seek a different opinion. I think all of us old farts should have a blood pressure machine. Take your BP twice a week. If it starts trending up see a physician. Hypertension is called the silent killer. There generally are no symptoms. If Bp isn't monitored and becomes elevated often the first and only symptom is a stroke or MI.
And you are 100% spot on, daily walking is the best exercise for promoting good health. It helps everything from cardiovascular, joint health, brain health, lessens depression, anxiety etc, and on and on. If you want to live a long good life keep moving, keep walking.

Hope all are doing well today. We are preparing for another Alaska cruise next week. Our wedding anniversary is next week the 4th and wifey wanted to go on a cruise to celebrate it. We’ve been to Alaska a couple times before so I think this will be our last to Alaska. She’s already booked up on an eastern Caribbean cruise and a Mississippi River cruise next year. I just go where she says. I’m well trained.
    Be safe and stay healthy.

    Afternoon all:

    Sue!

Hope you feel better soon Greg, sure looks like covid is resurging again and we will have to live with it, just like the flu bug.

Happy anniversary Ken and enjoy those cruises!

    Prostate cancer update:
    • Our move from New Hampshire to Maryland is basically complete (still unpacking).
    • This morning I had my first appointment with my new Radiation Oncologist; he was very pleased with the drop in my PSA from 97 to 0.49 between mid-January and early June.
    • Next steps are to have a new round of blood tests next week, and a new round of scans the week after that. Then I'll start radiation therapy the first week of October, and depending upon a number of factors, said therapy will be 5-days per week lasting between four and eight weeks.
    • Once the radiation therapy is complete the doctor believes A) my cancer will be basically "undetectable", and B) I will have worked through the side-effects and be pretty much back to normal by the end of the year.
In my case, the treatments have definitely been worse than the disease as I have yet to have a single symptom of the cancer, but the treatments have knocked me for a loop on more than one occasion. No worries, I'll get through this with a minimum of fuss. :)

    Evening all:

Sounds like the stars are lining up and things are looking pretty good for you Dale, hopefully the doc. is right about the cancer being "undetectable" after the radiation therapy. :fingerscrossed:

:woot:, the jacket came today, and it looks like it's almost new, definitely worn very little. I'm glad I grabbed it, it has 85% Olefin (Thinsulate) and 15% polyester insulation just like my parka, a lot of their other Dry Plus gear has 100% polyester insulation and isn't as warm, looks like I'll be nice and toasty this winter! :)
