Hey now! You wanted that IBA number and plate backer so suck it up buttercup! LOL. You even helped pick the ride...... There were slightly easier options and even the guy who verified our ride said that was one of the tougher choices and a helluva first cert ride.

Yeah... it's all 100% in her head... And she's stressing already/still. Also worried about forgetting everything she learned in the next 2 weeks before the test. They do some practice before hand, so I'm sure it'll come back. Hopefully she can just get her mind off it and relax.

She did the cone weave fine. She failed on this 2nd scenario. The other three she'd do just fine on, for sure (swerve, quick-stop, corner with speed).

All else fails, she could take the 3 wheel test and get a Ryker. She likes the thought of those, just for ease since she's used to her big automatic utility quad. We might take the test for that anyhow, just for fun and to get it added to our licenses. But I feel that'd be giving up, and I don't want that to be her go to quite yet, especially knowing she CAN do it.

One of the young guys here at my work just finished his course on Saturday here in PA. That was the one exercise that nearly dinged him. He was on a Grom and grabbed a bit too much front brake and did a stoppie in the box. Instructor told him he was impressed that Angel didn't crash but he did have to do it again.......properly! He passed so now it's time to help him bike shop.

Did the class teach on Groms??? or did he bring it himself?

In PA the basic rider course supplies the bikes and if needed helmets. I gave my young coworker my Arai full face to use for the class.

We rode down and watched a little on Saturday afternoon. A bunch of us at work kept messing with him threatening an entire cheering section and holding up signs but it was just my woman and I that actually showed up and we only watched a little then left.

Grom's are just so tiny. Hopefully they had some other choices, too, for people that needed them. The bike I was on was a great size for me, but another couple guys in the class were on them and they were easily a foot taller than me and it looked really uncomfortable for them.

I saw 5 Groms, a Suzuki TU250, a small Honda dual sport not sure of model, and another Suzuki of unknown size. Angel picked the Grom during his first class and so was sort of stuck with it. He's not real tall so it worked okay for him.

If you are interested in giving a CP2 a feel, you could take a spin on my FZ-07. It's not a speed demon but the torque through the power band makes it a ton of fun for tooling around.

If we were friends you would never know where I lived

Similar. I think I mentioned as much a couple pages back.

I'm part of a large biking group across Southern California and we'll sometimes organize large group rides, but those are stressful and always very tame, just from one destination to another usually on easy roads.

Found a solid group of about 5 people to ride with regularly, and we'll often get together during the week/weekends to ride to grab dinner, play some pool, etc. Of that same group, usually 1-3 of them will join me on a weekend 1-200 mile canyon/twisties ride which is the largest group I would do that with, where we all are comfortable with each other, ride our own pace, know to leave enough space, etc. Those are the rides I enjoy most.

We aren't quite as varied, I'm the "oldest" in the group at 30 lol. Though we do have the benefit of an EMT in our riding group, as well as a manager for one of the Toyota Dealership Parts departments here lol. 3 BMWs, 1 Triumph, 1 Ducati, 1 Honda

I tried to talk my friend into getting his license. He took the MSF course, and had plenty of experience riding motorcycles and scooters in his international travels. Did great throughout the class, and was going to ace the tests. But his test day had some gloomy weather, and it had rained the night before, so the test surface wasn't entirely dry. He pulled the brake too hard on that exercise, tucked the front and laid it down. They had to fail him after that

The girl (Amaris) who I sold my R3 to has a 2019 mt07. I am going to test ride it soon just to see what it feels like. Thanks for the offer though!

Lol. I will NEVER understand people who don't lock their doors. I've lived in extremely nice neighborhoods, and less than desirable ones, and always lock my doors.

I keep holding out hope that the first one mailed out will show up but that was over 2 months ago. Maybe the 2nd one ordered will show up soon but I don't like having my paperwork out in the wild lol. and they were supposed to send me new tags this time as well.

I learned to lock my doors after relaxing on my couch to hear my apartment door open with someone talking on their cell phone, "... yeah, i'm walking into your place right now... " I look over my shoulder at him, just say "umm... excuse me?". To the cell phone "OH MY GOD, I WALKED INTO THE WRONG APARTMENT", to me: "I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry!". Just some middle aged, nicely dressed white dude, lol.

Lol maybe from exhaustion. Idk for me it's a reflex, I don't even realize when I lock doors behind me. Have locked my roommates in the garage and thus out of the house a couple times on accident, though only for a couple minutes.

yeah it's quite frustrating. I just wanna ride the damn thing and not worry about the tags/paperwork lol.

Last year, when I bought the YZ in late June, I didn't get my title until September. Each time they called, they said they'd have a new one mailed out. Then the last time I had to follow up, they were kind enough to inform me that the title got ready for shipping but no one ever went to drop it off with USPS. Got it a week later lol.

Don't even get me started on the truck. I think it was all of 2023 that I drove without tags? I had paid the registration well ahead of deadline, but they either never mailed the sticker or it kept getting lost en route. After about 4 months of following up I just gave up and figured I'd risk it. Managed to avoid any tickets or pullovers the whole time, then when next year was due I got the new tags a couple weeks after paying.

What frustrates me the most is there is no flexibility with them at all. I've offered to give them a paid-for overnight label so that I can track it and get it quicker, and they tell me to pound sand, it'll DEFINITELY be there this time...right...

Haha that's one way to learn. glad it was innocent. I've been fortunate enough to never have any issues, but I like my dog and my stuff and would like to keep them both. I remember not too long ago, my mom's neighbors across the street would always leave their dog hanging out on loose on the driveway with their side door open for the dog to go in and out as she pleased. Very friendly pup. It was a very safe neighborhood, in a cul de sac with minimal traffic, and most of the people who walked there were other neighbors or their kids. No reason for anyone else to be on that street.

Then they came home one day to find their house pretty much cleaned out. Nothing damaged or broken, no forced entry. Dog was just fine and happy as a clam, with a new rawhide that the owners didn't give to her. They moved shortly after that. Hopefully they keep their doors locked now.
