Looking at the 2024s. I’m curious about how they reconfigured the back seat of the double cab. Went to look at the dealership and the seat bottom now flips up against the seat back in back. On my 23 it flips forward and the seat back flips down, which allows some good cargo space. Anyone loaded up the back of their cab and able to comment on whether it still holds close to as much?

There is nice cargo space both behind and under the seat now. This is my first Tacoma, but I have a 1st gen Tunrda as well and the storage space is much improved back there. The double cab 2024 Taco actually has a bit more room than the 1st gen Tundra Extended cab.

I traded my 2016 in for this truck. There's considerably more storage under the seat than in the previous generation.

Yeah definitely more storage under the seat but I’m talking about flipping the seats and loading with stuff for a trip

Personally, I could do without any of the storage under the seat. A nice flat floor would be great. Folding the backs down you lose a lot of space. Plus the one seatbelt is in the way. Not a deal breaker and really like the truck.

When I go hunting in October, I will find out how much stuff fits compared to the 3rd gen. I prob will try just folding rears down and see how that works. the new setup will leave some space behind front seats, I will use every spot I can :muscleflexing:

I removed 3 bolts from the rear 60% seat and took it out. Now i have alot of space for my tools behind driver seat. i needed the extra space for tools i use at work but now she is a 3 seater.

You can disconnect that center belt and store it. Just press the red button inset in the connector at the bottom.

Thank you! I had not looked into it yet and figured there was a way.
