just a couple of things tbh
haha its possible! tbh for me my front door is always locked and i go in and out my garage all the time since my drive way and garage is behind my house so why exit in the front?

ya that would drive me nuts man!

haha mine was pure whoops i forgot! didnt notice until the gf was helping me load the klx up on the bike carrier and she just goes uhhh hun? your plate is expired... what!? no its not! oh wait shit ya it is lmao and i keep forgetting to go! but now i have to go since my permit for motos is expiring in two days lol. ya ya get a license bla bla havent had the time for it! so 5 bucks ever 6 months works fine lmao. in my state you can get new tags through the interwebs! but but! you can not do it with a vehicle you havent done taxes with! so if you buy a newer vehicle or just a new vehicle to you! that first year or two you will not be able to do it online! since according to the state there is no tax history of said vehicle in your name so it doesnt exist so you must waist your time to go down to the dmv to do it,,,,,

ya agreed its the states way or the damn highway! they are not helpful at all!

2-3 like minded buddies with similar skills in the California canyons....moto nirvana.

There's an older dude that does some bike reviews in the canyons. You'd probably know the roads. I do not. He loves Guzzi - GRiSO and Stelvio, and has done some videos of himself thrashing one chasing a straight up Sport bike. Dude can ride. Point is that is my most in depth exposure to those roads and they seem amazing.

Here he is on a GRiSO chasing an S1000RR
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCpbkdn1VeE

Here's the RR chasing him on a Stelvio.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3aBT5gebGzI

When you consider in that last video, he's riding a bike like this, a 600# 110hp pig. Impressive

That guy can ride the hell out of his bikes lol. Looks effortless compared to the other riders. First video I'm almost positive is Angeles Crest Highway, second may be a different stretch or Glendora Mountain Road. Both great roads, used to take my WRX up there. Have yet to take the bikes partially because it's about a 2hr ride just to get there, and also because it's always such a hotspot for bikes, cars, and police, you have to get there early to really enjoy it. I'd bet @nd4spdbh and @gnarthirty2 have been to at least ACH plenty of times

Yeah the SoCal canyon roads really are great. Especially here in San Diego, police don't really patrol them, mostly border patrol, and they don't mind us nearly as much. usually pretty well maintained and great views

here's a good visual of how much of just San Diego county alone has great riding.. follow that interstate 15 from north to south, everything east of there is pretty much agricultural/farmland, which makes for some very low traffic riding roads. My favorite loop on that southern-most latitudinal road from Lemon Grove that heads east by Tecate to Campo, head north through side roads/Sunrise Highway to Julian, then Palomar, then loop back west to take the coast south to home. That's about an 8 hour day of riding if we get started around 9AM, with 3 stops. Lunch and 2 gas stops.

I've ridden GMR and ACH numerous times. When Newcomb's Ranch closed, I stopped going up there as it was my destination to watch the GP races, eat a solid meal, hang out and drink a beer, then head back home. Happy to hear that it was purchased and should be on the road to reopening.

Sounds like a better experience than the time a blackout drunk guy tried to walk in through my back door. Luckily it was locked, but had to call the cops when he kept trying to fight my neighbor, insisting we were lying about his friend living there.

The U-turn is what always gets me too. 100% mental.

Even if you don't have the MSF/license course available to you, the U-turn must be made inside of a 20-24" box per MSF. That's 2.5-3 parking spaces wide, so even if you can find an empty HS lot, parking lot, etc, you can have the infrastructure to make it happen. I still go to empty parking lots and bang out a reps of U-turns, esp now that I'm on a taller, heavier bike for practice.

other than the crown of the road, we honestly have more than enough room in our culdesac. Maybe I can talk her into buying a bike this week so she can practice, lol.

I have ridden Angeles Crest 2 or 3 times, never Glendora Mtn though - been wanting to but from where im located its a all freeway shitty ride just to get to it as im due west and would have to go through LA / La county. I refuse to deal with LA as its just an absolute shithole.

Especially when im either on the PCH or at the start of decker canyon in like 15minutes.

Well they came back with a value of $8075 then - $500 deductible for $7575 I said no. They said they called dealers within a 150mile radius to find out what a 2011 GSXR would be sold for. So they asked my permission to go with a bigger radius. Anyway they won’t take Facebook market place adds so the ones I sent them are not going to work. I did send dealer listing value of $8600 and that’s for a stock bike.

I just want to break even after paying the $500 deductible and that is $8400. Not sure I will get there but will at least try.

Definitely see if you can get more but tbh I wouldn't be too upset with that payment. sounds like they're valuing it for more than you paid already.

Not sure if you ever got around to installing any of the mods you bought for it, but if so it might be worth submitting those receipts. That's how I kept my truck from becoming salvaged when I wrecked it in the desert. Without the mods, it's value wouldn't have been high enough to avoid being totaled.

I found four nation wide 2011 GSXR 750
I submitted all receipts for what I purchased for it. I did fine two other 2011 GSXR 750s on for 8700 and one for 8900 but with over 20000 miles on each of them from dealers.
No they valued it for $500 less and that’s not counting the aftermarket parts. So to me it’s under valued by about $800. It had an M4 slip on, aftermarket levers, saddle man seat, fender eliminator , frame sliders, ECU flash , new plugs and oil filter change. If I was to purchase another one they are all $8000 or more and that’s stock with higher miles.
I just want it to feel fair to me is all. And that’s $8350 paid out to me after the $500 deductible .
I am loosing a lot money on the whole deal which sucks. So I would be out $1000 from purchase price, $300 ecu flash, $130 spark plugs oil filter changed, $200 title license and $144 for insurance all for a bike I owned for 6 days. So $1774 lost if I took their $7500 payout. That doesn’t sound fair to me.

I'm nowhere near that shithole. That's our own little slice of California. Sucks because it's gorgeous country.

Pretty big turnout at the local cars and coffee/gathering event:

Also got a good picture of me:

    BMP-08252024-0361-Original File_sans_sutyen.jpg

Riding was fun, first time in about 2 months due to all the track days I've been doing recently. I ended up grinding pegs on both sides, just because I'm getting used to leaning the bike over way more on track. I should probably slow down.
