Running Light Not Working (tail light)

Hello All, I’m new to the forum and glad to join.

I recently purchased a 2016 SR5 for my first Tacoma. I bought a pair of Ebay tail lights (lesson learned), and now I am experiencing some issues. When I plugged it in on the drivers side the tail light immediately had the hyper flash. I disconnected the light, put new halogen bulbs in, and put the stock housing back on.

Now, the drivers side lower running light doesn’t work on that tail light, as well as both license plate lights. I replaced the 7.5A ‘TAIL’ fuse below the steering wheel because it was blown. That still hasn’t fixed the issue. It has power because the brake light works like normal.

Anyone ever experience this? Are the license plate lights and tail lights on the same circuit?

 

Does the passenger side one work?

 

Yes, passenger side functions like normal.

 

Would seem you have a wiring or bulb issue then, all of the tail lights and licence plate lights are powered by the TAIL Fuse (7.5A).

 

Check power at the lamp connector pins. Wire might've been brittle and severed by handling it.
