Is that how they estimate crank power? Based off timing?

No, the Mustang Dyno actually makes you do a calibration run and then a rundown where you get up to a set speed and then let it coast all the way down to zero mph and it calculates drivetrain loss

It's a powerful ECU and my buddy and I are getting very good with it which 5 vehicles on then between us. The new engine I'm assembling will let me fill in a ton of areas under the curve to have more torque all around and hopefully also a bit higher peak (which it is capable of now but perhaps not long term). Really hopeful to bring the curve up sharper and have it maintain longer with the new engine when I don't have a concern of rods bending or head gasket leaving the chat (I still have the old composite gaskets if you can believe it). I'm still running a bit of a eccentric billionaire tune (rich and retarded) for safety haha, I'd like to get to the more efficient but slightly less overly conservative stage of tuning this thing.

I'd be happy to help improve the tune if you came up here. I'm not a remote tuner really but my buddy that has done a lot of work to my tune offers his services remotely if you were ever interested I could put you two in touch.

Cool ya I'll reach out if I ever find myself up in your neck of the woods.
It's at a good point for now where I don't need remote assistance, but there's always fine tuning and small improvements that can be made that I feel are more easily troubleshooted in person.

Here's the much cleaner graph of the 3rd pull...

and because our dyno guy is one of the nicest and goofiest in the business... here's the graph with the crank power estimations and of course the ever popular "duck power" figure...

Thanks for finding this out. That pink clutch puts in work lol. Do you plan to find the clutch’s limit with your built engine or do you have another clutch in mind?

I'm torn on that, engine will already be out and clutch specialties in GA said they can use my Exedy core to manufacturer one that will hold to 800lb ft. But that's a little ways in the future this one still has plenty more street and wheeling miles to endure.

Is duck power the integral or something?

800 ft lbs on a single disc? Impressive numbers but I’m assuming it’s no longer using organic disc material at that point. I had to sell my old 3rz truck with this same stage 1 years ago because of a knee injury. I can’t imagine going for a heavier pedal or feather a metallic disc on the trail. Just my MCL’s 2c.

No it's literally just a joke power figure he programmed in after finding out the approx. amount of work a duck can do haha

    Stuff. Also things.
Any difference or issues with the spooly boi in low speed wheeling situations, Zane?

I'm assuming a majority of this graph is at 12psi or so?

Nope, it mostly just hangs out, truck does slow speed stuff like it always has. You have to REALLY lean into the pedal on the rocks to get it to spool in low and if you're geared down in low, like moving slow in 3rd gear you can get it to build boost but it's nothing like in high range haha. Haven't even gotten a puff of smoke out of it in off camber stuff which is nice.

Nah, rolling into boost while cruising (as a dyno makes you) it didn't get into spool assist much so it peaked at 12.4 at around 3300rpm but fell to 11.8 thereafter. I have the log somewheres still. I've gotten it more stable at getting to and maintaining targets since then actually. You can see the little peak it had where the boost controller corrected. The graph would probably be smoother now and a little higher power.

You're hitting 12.4 at 3k? Sheesh. How much throttle/load are you giving it for that under street conditions? Or do you only really see that on the dyno?
It would be cool to see a boost and afr plot on your dyno chart.

The scary part is it can do more, I've pulled quite a bit of timing down low to avoid bending rods and I even have it ramp the boost up sequentially. It's not allowed to make full boost below 3000 RPM but it's capable of it. Next time I do dyno pulls I'll see if Jeff wants to integrate my log data. I'm sure I could do it after the fact but it's easier for him because the mustang Dyno software does let you put in some other data if you want.
