And I also should never have traded the Land Cruiser for this POS. I just haven’t had good luck with Tacomas unfortunately. I feel like my old one was always breaking also. At least it’s motor never shit the bed though.

The Cruiser never did let me down other than some of the typical leaks. Same with my Camry. I don’t think I’ll own another Yota that doesn’t have a VIN starting with a J.

    That's just you.

A lot of us owned a Tacoma without issue.

My worst issues on it were - radiator (plastic end tank cracked), and my transmission pan leaked?

Yeah I think you are right, at the same time I will have to see if I can even get it to reach the bumps, of it can't then as long as I don't over compress it, a longer shocks would work, in theory.
Trying to take the easy way out, which is on par for you I suppose.
We all know we will be here having this same talk in a few months if he does get something different.

At this point I just feel like I’ll never trust this thing again, even if I do find a JDM motor for it or whatever. It still has a bunch of other leaks and crappy top-short driveshaft. Someone would be doing me a favour taking it off my hands - if anything, I should pay them a junk be gone fee.

The radiator cracked on my old one. I was lucky to not crack a head on that occasion since I didn’t notice the leak at first.

I guess I’ve just had bad luck. I had high hopes for this one since it was in good condition aesthetically, which usually means it’s been looked after decently well.

I've been trying to figure out what problems mine has had. AC needed recharged.... Steering rack leaks... Uhhhhhhh idk. The fact I abuse mine, threw a supercharger on it, beat it up more, and yet, nothing. I guess maintenance goes a long way.

The radiator thing is really common; the plastic end tanks get brittle with heat cycling and age.

But it takes what, an hour to replace and about $150 total if you're including new coolant.

It has self ejecting driveshaft bolts? Mine had a parking brake freeze up because of my own oversight with suspension I guess.

I blame myself for buying into all the fanboy hype online about them running forever with minimal maintenance. There’s so much mystique built up around Toyota that anything counts as “just maintenance,” even if you have to rebuild the whole truck.

I get that it’s an old truck, but I’m not convinced it’s that much different from any other 25 year old vehicle. Most OEMs made a decent drivetrain back in the 90s, even Chrysler with the 4.0 and 318. I think whatever you get, it’s gonna eat parts, and these Tacomas are certainly no exception. Even when exceptionally maintained, they can still shit the bed. It just happens.

Was that really a problem? actually the fact that we didn't do see if I drunk torqued all the other bolts on that thing gave me a solid laugh when I was driving home Sunday. I'll have to check those ones too, but figure I'll be pulling the shaft for a rebuild later this year anyways. You would've enjoyed the sounds/vibes it was making. Shot you a DM on IG with the sound.

Go ahead and flame lol, I’m done with these junkers anyway. I’ll probably be poor the rest of my life cause of all the cash I’ve wasted on these things, but I have no one to blame but myself.

Just don't go buying one of those overpriced, high-mileage Cruisers you link to.
    My 2 cents anyway.

Why would anyone here "flame" you?

You confuse us for your Facebook groups which you can clearly see, is way different than the actual forum.

In this group, and the forum for the most part, people can attest to the trucks’s reliability all day long.

You can only blame yourself because based on the way you buy/trade vehicles, you set yourself up for failure.

I gave you great advice on how to sell a vehicle, and you've been given plenty of great advice on other things by other members here as well.

You just let it go through one ear and out the other because you rather believe your fanboy group on Facebook and come back with all your "I heard" or "I read".

Hopefully you grow up soon, one day.

We ordered four dozen fresh jumbo crabs to pick up Saturday. Going to hang with the family and a couple close friends and try to avoid the crowds of our last big touristy weekend here. You?
