One of my favorite seasons of TV ever, up there with S1 of True Detective.

That is high praise, S1 of True Detective was legendary. Shame the following seasons never lived up, though I don't think they were as bad as some do. Haven't seen the most recent one yet

I mean I'm leaving everything I know tomorrow to move somewhere where I don't know the city, I don't have any friends, I have no idea what the hell is going to happen. But you know what!? I know it'll be a good experience, it's going to have highs and lows but I know I can figure it out. You learn more in life when you go throw hard shit. You and me are in complete alignment, some people struggle to leave the comfort of what they know for the change that they need.

It's how you grow as a person for sure

Hard shit was a daily routine most of my life, but like you mentioned to someone else, you can opt to not be the victim

I chose to remove myself from a place I didn't want to be - it wasn't easy, but each and every time I did it I grew wiser

But yeah I've lived here for what, 2-3 years now? I've only made maybe 3 buddies here but they're definitely the kind I'll hang out with which is nice.

Could be. I don’t really feel like a serious person.

I don't know you well enough to say that.

But based on a lot of facts you've shared about - your life, your job, your living situation, etc. I can infer that life hasn't really forced you in a position where if you didn't take quick action, you were forced in a situation that no one can help you out of for instance like being homeless or something.

We all go through our own shit, and it isn't fair to measure what one person has been through with another. We all have our battles and deal with them differently.

However, it can help you to listen to those people that have been in some pretty shitty situations.

Whether it's making a decision about something, or changing your perspective, or anything this way you can keep yourself from having to go through an unnecessary hardship.

In the end, it's your battle and your choice with how you'll deal with it.

All we can do is try to help.

Idk I feel wood working is easy, we knocked out that dog platform in what, 10 minutes with some eyeball measuring. We are basically carpenters.

    Ooof

I just want one for a small job - small cause it's a one time thing but I won't do it myself due to my lack of experience to obtain a "quality" finish

Oh he's great at it, that mini cutting board he made me was legit AF

But our schedules are different and I wouldn't want him driving 35-40mins each time for something like this

My project is a wood surround, around a metal frame, with two doors in the front.

The "project" itself is simple when explained, but I wouldn't have the space or means of painting it black to make it look like the rest of our kitchen. I don't have a planar or router or other tools.

I want to make a stand for a larger aquarium across from the island except I also plan to buy a granite top so it doesn't stand out from the kitchen itself.

    @eon_blue

Basically one of these, but sized to the metal frame I build which is about 36" wide and some 12" to 15" deep, without a backsplash and with a similar granite on top, against the wall where the arrow points

    20220329_132522.jpg

The opening underneath would give me access to a canister filter and co2 tank I'll have underneath along with misc aquarium stuff

Has it been that long already? I remember installing RH 5.1 on a DEC Alpha workstation in 1998. The next year, everybody and their brother had a distro.

During the big Toyota parts sale, I ordered a new steering rack, crankshaft pulley, and an intermediate shaft #2. Things that I will hold until some time in 2025 when I have time to install them.

@m3bassman Many years ago, I moved to NYC and didn't know anybody. It didn't take long to meet a group of great friends. Still friends today. One of the best things that I've done.
