The wheels on my old 95.5 have been throught the ringer. My son is now the owner after my neighbor owned it for 18 years. He wants to replace the rims since he realized I was correct that they were not salvagable in their condition. We both love the original rims that are on it and I have found a place that sells them reconditioned. Wheels America is the company. Has anyone here used them to replace their rims and if so, are they worthwhile to go to?

There is a place in Winter Park, FL (not too far from us) that sells many styles of the 17" TRD wheel sets. I am curious what needs to be done to install these on our 95.5 if we realized this is not a good route to go.

Thanks in advance for any and all inputs !

The later model wheels will fit but the offset is different I believe, but plenty of people run them. I see TRD wheels that are almost new in CL all the time pretty cheap, I would go that route.

I bought refurbed OEM wheels from one of the big name companies. This was about 3 years ago. Was, and still am, very happy with the quality of the wheels.

We would really like to do exactly that, but I can't seem to figure out where to buy OEM wheels at. If you recall the supplier, please let me know.

All of the 4Runner wheels made when the 1st Gen taco was in production fit perfectly. The 'star' wheels look great on a Taco. After the 2nd gen taco went into production I believe the offset changed but they fit. Should be some solid details about fitment on here somewhere....comes up a lot.

I am not certain but I believe your OE wheels have the same offset as the later Tacomas (1st Gen) but I am not 100% on that. 99% sure. And with stock'ish wheel sizes fitment shouldn't be an issue. I would run them without spacers and adjust from there if needed. They will fit but you may get some rubbing at full lock, then space it.

I have 5 Factory Alloy Rims from my 1997 4x4, one is NOS and the other 4 are in mint state. They are the same style as in your Avatar. The shipping is the only issue from Arizona to Georgia. $50.00ea + shipping of $50-$60 ea?

After some digging it was in fact Wheels America. The photo is of one of the wheels today, after about a year and a half and 10K miles.

Got a set of wheels for our truck.

    SUPER KUDOS to zooma-loom !!!

I need to look up how to officially give him a seller feedback for the board. He was awesome and went way above and beyond to get me a set of rims that I was looking for. He went to a wheel store to acquire boxes to ship across the country to me, and boxed them as perfectly as anyone could ever imagine. He charged me the exact shipping price, after going the extra mile to protect them as such. His timing was super quick although he asked me to be patient with him as he had a job still and had to make time to get them situated and sent to me.

I would buy from him in a heartbeat !

    Thanks VERY MUCH zooma-loom !!!

I'm so glad you didn't get to them first, lol...

My son and I are putting a 95.5 back to as good as it was (hopefully better) 18 years ago when I sold it to my neighbor. The truck was in dire need of wheels. We now need to get some good tires for these rims.

    Have a great day !

Any wheels from 05-23 tacomas will fit perfect with a 1" spacer behind them, they'll fit without the spacer too but your tire choice will be limited as they can rub the upper arm and frame.

    Thanks Speedtech7

I couldn't truly find a for sure definitive answer for that. It looked like I could, read most of a thread dealing with rims and explaining backspacing and all. I understood backspacing, but did not see on that thread what the back spacing needs to be on my 1st gen 1995.5

We really wanted this look and to not deal with spacers, and this worked perfectly to our desires. Thanks again to zooma-loom !
