New to forum, just bought a 2022 sr5 with v6. Does it have direct injection, the combined system, or just port injection?

Thanks so much. The next question then is anyone having carbon buildup in the cylinders or has anyone added an oil capture unit to pcv system?

The dual injection system does not have carbon buildup issues. The port injection cycles "cleans" them when it cycles.

The owner's manual recommends Top Tier gasoline. Many brands meet the extra detergent requirements to be Top Tier rated.

Stock wheels and suspension. Random "utilitarian" mods featured on this great forum.
I've been running a catch can anyway since I had it brand new. Collects a bit in between oil changes.

    Negative sir.

The DI cleaning "cycle" only happens at hot idle. There a slit in the side of direct injector and it blows off the carbon.

Port injection cleans intake valves naturally whenever the motor is in port injection or both injectors mode.
