Not really. It's cheap enough that threat of legal dispute may move the needle in your favor. You know what they bike was worth, they know it's fair, and just consulting one of their lawyers will cost more than the pay out difference. Not saying to get aggressive, but my brother had fears that he'd be low balled when his WRX was rolled a few years back. He told them "I know what the car is worth, and what I paid, so if you try to go cheap we will just go straight to litigation." When they came back with an offer it was $2K more than what he would have accepted as a minimum. Worth a shot for you.

Well I did tell them I didn’t agree with their value as of now and that I won’t accept it. We will see what their next move is. I know I won’t take less than what is fair to break even. Thanks for the advice.

I had the guy with the 2008 cbr600rr with the title issues offer to sell to me for 7k. I just said no that I don’t want to deal with it. I said if you had the title in hand it would be in my garage already. Then the other guy with the 2012 cbr1000rr got back to me and decided not to sell right now. He got the same offers as mind and took the listing down. It’s all good because I have stuff to take care of first with the insurance.

Quick glance on Cycle Trader using a nationwide search for a 2011 GSXR750 came up with a few and prices ranged from $6990-8990. I didn't look at each one individually to check mileage or anything like that. Sadly insurance is a numbers game and to them a motorcycle or car for that matter is nothing more than a vehicle and each one will get you where you're going. They could give 2 shits about the modifications you've made or what you spent to do it. Even with receipts to prove what you spent you're lucky if you get half of that money back when dealing with insurance. Not trying to be a downer here just telling you how it's worked for me in the past.

What is your insurance company? State Farm boned me the hardest when filing a claim. Progressive was the easiest, Geico wasn't bad. My ex got hit on her Harley Super Glide and the woman who hit her had Geico. It probably helped though that I was still working at the Harley dealership when it happened and we went to meet the adjuster at the shop. When we walked in and all staff members greeted both of us by name the adjuster probably realized he had no chance so they paid pretty well.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Auto-owners paid out my accessories on my car (just a hitch but that was near $600) without any persuasion.

Got hurt worse on all the stuff left in the car that burned up. FYI for anyone that your car insurance probably will not cover materials inside the car (bullshit)

On my progressive insurance i have the option for both installed accessory coverage and carried contents coverage. Something to check next time yall are looking at your insurance.

    I have that as well.

While we're on the subject of insurance and dealing with them, do yourself a favor and keep a list of accessories, when they were purchased, and what you paid. New or used parts. I'm not saying to add them up because you might not really want to see what you spent! I keep an Excel spreadsheet though for each of my vehicles, Tacoma included, and I can tell you that when I got hit in 2019 that list came in far handier than I ever imagined. In the aftermath of an accident it's far too easy to forget some of the little things you've added and for which you should be compensated. Don't forget the gear you're wearing too. Be specific, make, model, and sizes. Insurance companies really aren't your friend.....good neighbor my ass.

I have progressive. They have $3000 aftermarket parts coverage that comes with each policy. You can choose more.

This is great advice. Take pictures of your bike also. It almost makes sense to take pics of the bike’s condition and take a pic of mileage before each ride. They were asking a lot about the condition before the fire. Wanted all pics ect. Also said pics of accessories were good enough. It’s really a stressful process.

I did the same and looked nation wide. So take the high and low and the average is $8000 for a stock bike with high mileage. Then add the $1500 in aftermarket parts and you are at $9000 then subtract the $500 deductible and you are at $8500.
That math makes sense to me. You could raise the value up a few hundred because of the low miles. Not sure they do but I would be fine with that number.
Even if they pay half of the aftermarket parts that’s $8750 then subtract deductible and it’s $8250.
The $7500 they came back with is not acceptable .

    It IS a stressful process!

When we got hit in 2019 we were in TN, staying at a hotel in NC, but live in PA. Got hit head on, fortunately injuries were minor but bike was totaled. Had to arrange a rollback to pick up the bike and at least get us back to the hotel. I made sure Dianne was okay, truck driver who witnessed everything stayed with us and was a HUGE help. One of the first things I did was to snap a picture of the car's license plate out of fear they might take off. Police and fire both at the scene and helped pick up the bike and move it aside, they called a wrecker for us. Roll back driver suggested I not watch as the bike was dragged onto the truck for transport. Police never gave me the other driver's name or info! Told me I could get all of that from the police report once it was filed, in about 7-10 days! Here in PA the police give both parties copies of all that on the scene.

I wasn't sure what to do so on the way back to the hotel in the rollback roughly 90 minutes away I decided to call Progressive, my insurance, and start a claim even though the other driver was at fault. The representative was incredible. Gave me tons of info, took our statements, and gave me a claim number before we even got back to the hotel. When we arrived back at the hotel, we were there for a FJR meet, 2 of our forum members saw it a honestly sprinted across the parking lot to see what had happened. Friends helped with unloading the bike and some of our guys asked what needed removed to keep for the next bike. I joked later that our friends stripping the wreckage looked like a NASCAR pit crew made of Special Olympics athletes. We had to travel over an hour away to Asheville airport to get a rental car to get home. I had phone calls Saturday night and Sunday from Progressive to check on me.

Monday at work I reached out to the agent assigned my claim and spent some time on the phone with her. I emailed her photos of the bike, the car with a pic of the license plate, and all of our gear. I sent her scanned copies of the towing bill, the rental car receipts, my spreadsheet of accessories and service records for the bike. She called me back less than 24 hours later telling me they would forward me a copy of the as yet unreleased police report and that my license plate photo had been enough to locate the car owner and learn they had not even reported the accident yet! She told me that photo alone likely took 2 weeks off the procedure.

One week to the day after the wreck I was able to go to the nearest Progressive claim office and picked up 2 checks, one for the replacement value of the bike which was more than fair, and one for our gear that was destroyed. I was told there was a check in the mail for the towing charges. The rental reimbursement would have to come for the other person's insurance company, Liberty Mutual. If I never deal with Liberty Mutual again I can die a happy man. They sucked and I mean SUCKED. Accident was September 20,2019 but we never got the rest settled up with Liberty until May 2020.

Yup. I just asked my motorcycle insurance about additional coverage for aftermarket stuff to find out that my policies come with an automatic $3500 extra on each vehicle with full coverage.

I also keep a list of every mod/accessory added. Should probably keep a record of where I purchased, but I never delete email receipts so searching through there is fairly quick.

I've also made the mistake of adding that stuff up. best not to...

If any of you are also mountain bikers, you know how popular 1up racks are. A moto carrier from them is gonna be super neat! No way it'll hold my Africa Twin, but good to have options.

Well Amaris is finally back in town and will pick up her R3 tomorrow. My garage space is limited and I want that space back.
Didn’t hear anything from the insurance company today.

I broke my bike and now Im very tempted to buy a 2nd as I wait for parts.

I really want my rav4 to sell first.

I've been eyeing a Versys 300 and a Vmax, there MIGHT be a bit of a different between the two. Not sure yet.
