I’m old school, for knives I use a steel and wet stone to sharpen like my father taught me many many years ago. Sharpen with the stone. Maintain and freshen the edge with a steel.

Ooooohhhhhh Love me some cpk! Much like that but 3x the size
Just got a hapstone in and assembled to work out the edge. I ruined it defending myself during a wild pallet attack.
After I clean up the bent edge I’ll try and get some glamor shots and post my justification for this absurd purchase.

Edit above. IMG_0547.jpg This is the one.

I bought that knife from Nathan 9 years ago, before he was well known, and making loads of them. A certain collector was bugging me to sell it to him because it wasn't a production model. This is what Nathan said about it: "Yours is different than most because it is pimped out a little. It got a fine grind rather than "field grade, machined and tumbled" and it has red liners. It also has a David Brown kydex sheath rather than the standard sheath. This sheath is a little higher end with more features incuding a TecLoc."

@ClassyTacos Not trying to talk smack, just know rixy is more of friction folder type guy and the infidel isn’t where I’d start personally. Only joke about the deadlock because because I love mine and that convo started with absurdly expensive pointy stabbies.
OTF is love <3 First one I ever owned was a Cupid clone as a teen. By the time I could afford a real one DCC had gone under so I had to private party. The Cupid and STC are probably the only two I think twice about before rotating them into EDC

I’ve known about the existence of CPK for quite a while but was in bed with Survive! Knives for my 3V fixies up until they recently went under. The company promised high quality at a low price, which they definitely delivered on, when they actually shipped. I received 4 blades from Survive. One took 4 years, but did eventually show up as nice as promised.
After almost a decade of missing delivery deadlines by years, they finally folded leaving 3k+ preorders in the dirt with little to no recourse. It was a ponzie scheme. They would take money for preorders to build past preorders (or whatever they could build the fastest since the big choppers took more time to process) and buy new equipment.
Had a 12” chopper on preorder for 7 years when they gave up the ghost. Sold off one in disgust (for some reason the market for these things is still really strong despite having no company to warranty them) and began searching for a monster chopper from the legit company I should have been supporting all along.
There’s a VERY long thread on bladeforums about the whole saga for anyone interested in the juiciest knife world drama since Dalton Combat Cutlery.

This thing came with a factory edge that was scary sharp for a 12” chopper. I promptly dulled it on a pallet before taking it to this little urban grotto. Despite the pallet damage, it still made mince meat of willow and birch.

No such luck! I worked it a little with the new system and then gave up in frustration. Nothing to see lol Going to use it this season and then send it to Nathan for a proper edge.

nothing fancy but very functional a Sanrenmu with sandvik steel, 12c27... very thin for an easy pocket carry even with dress pants... slip joint here... which is fine with me..

Patriot Leather nailed it again. I picked up a Tops T4 tracker and had a cross draw sheath made for it. Very comfortable to wear. Nice setup overall.
