Good work! This is a job that at first glance the typical DIY-guy will say I cannot attempt this. But it's a pretty simple job, And everyone has a first time right?

After way too long! Here is the way I do it that will save you all a lot of work, check the description of the video also, I updated the tool list but also I no longer pull the tie rod end when I do it.

    https://youtu.be/Wl2FmRGjiV4?si=slrs4b-W6mHXMbwq

I'm also going to create another thread on here so maybe more people will see it and save themselves some work

Anyone have the parts number for the axle seal? I opted not to get it when I bought the ecgs bushing and now changed my mind and want a new one put in when I get the needle bearing replaced.

Nice video! I would have liked to see you drive the bushing in, to compare with my experience.

It can be a pain and take a while.... I cheat now and use an air hammer on the install too and it goes in quick!

I know the cost of the bushing and seal are not big but, not small. Is it worth it to buy one of each extra, in case of damage during install? Or with their removal and install tools, there is little to no chance of hurting the new parts? Ski

If you use their tools and make sure to drive it straight, no risk of damaging the bushing. The seal is a little easier to damage but local Toyota typically has them in stock so that shouldn't be an issue. The other issue is breaking the removal tool. If you make sure it is on the needle bearing and not the housing you will be fine

Ordered with an extra seal. WOW, they charge a bunch for shipping. Mine was 24.00 bucks. Ski

Amen! I keep a few bushings and seals on the shelf just in case someone local shows up. It gets kinda expensive (considering I'm just a dude doing side work out of my personal shop space).

With as many as you've replaced, and sold for them, you should call them and ask for a break on shipping, and or wholesale/resale sellers pricing. Ski

Code TW gets free shipping for Tacoma World Forum. That's the only break I get haha! I order them in sets of 5 typically then get seals and crush washers at the dealership.

    Try living in Hawaii.....

$50 shipping. At least it was 2nd day air since I'm paying for it.

Could of fit in a small USPS flat rate.

It is in our vendors/discounts page. I just found it a few months ago.

Excellent video! One question, you suggest putting the seam in the bushing at the 7:30 position, but it looks like you are installing it at 5:30 - down and to the back, rather than forward.

Yeah, that was my mistake, I noted that in the description of the video, per ECGS, there is no difference and seam alignment does not matter.

Really didnt want to do this but looks like my needle bearing is on the way out. Vibrations at ~20 and 35 that go away when put in 4hi.

Ordered the kit today, and @MyWyfsRnnr has given me the push I needed to do it myself. I'm pretty mechanically inclined, but rather lazy when it comes to this stuff. :fingerscrossed:

Kit? What comes in the kit, bushings puller, and bushing insert tool?

Just asking because I got the ECGS puller and insert tools; looks like you're my neighbor.
