    @kidsmoke

Decided to put an rfi in about the motow. I really hate dragging my trailer from the backyard. Not an issue if I leave it in the driveway but to get it in/out of the backyard I have to use the truck since it's over a curb, all uphill (putting it away) and at least 500ft from the street if not more.

    Curious what they reply.

    Golf specs vs their spec
TW: 350lbs vs 500 (seems excessive)
    Tow hitch height: 7 1/2" vs 10"
Bike only weighs 250lbs. So even if half of that is on the rear I should be plenty in vehicle rating accounting for the leverage.

Seriously bet it was. I'd love to do it on my CT90, too. Even lighter, with a torquier motor, and bigger wheels and dirt oriented tires. Plus it'd probably be easier to attach a bike trailer or something to if I wanted to get silly with how much I packed/brought. If you ever hear inklings of them looking for someone else to join.. let me know. Still on the bucket list to do. A friend from grade/high school and I were supposed to do it four or five years ago but his kid came a month early and we had to cancel.

Fingers crossed that the CT90 gets done as my winter project. I've been slowly accumulating more parts for it. Full strip down, repainting the frame, redoing the wiring harness and changing up the battery situation.

After looking at all the over priced used bikes it has made me not want to buy anything yet. The right bike will pop up. Just have to be patient. I think I will detail the FZ1 and put it back up for sale and just keep it out there. After riding it today just made me want to let it go. Someone somewhere is looking for this bike. Just gives me an excuse to ride the Klx more.

    If it’s a 2” receiver I think it’ll work. I can get you a 10% discount. Let me know

I've committed to GP shift on the KTM now. Hopefully I can get used to it relatively quickly.

It was a nice summer's day today, a bit warm perhaps.
I need an oil filter wrench for the wife's Volvo (rare item I find out)
Took the VFR into town to check at our three FLAPS. No luck, but a good reason to ride.
Took the long way in, that meant a blast up the interstate. There was a big cruiser bike rider on the entry ramp ahead of me. By the time we merged into the empty travel lanes, we were both doing "about 80" ... I'm not saying for sure ;-)

Rolling into power is just such a kick!
I've been at this for just about 60 years since my first bike, and it still makes me smile......

    Down for UP?

Long while back, I reversed the shifter plate on my BSA 441 Victor to get the "Down for up, Up for down" shift pattern. I liked it. took no time to adapt/

Yep, hammer down, ease up is what I keep repeating while riding. I think I'll be fine if I'm planning on shifting, but I'm involuntarily shifting the wrong way if I don't think about it.

    It will come!

One of my bikes shifts on the right. Riding it is not a problem, something triggers inside....

But the reason I ride is to PAY ATTENTION! It's your life and other's at stake!

It’s when you have more than one bike and only one is gp shift. It’s tricky unless it’s your only ride. And yes I have had a bike with gp shift. Maybe put a piece of tape on the tank that says GP shift

Super Tenere is still standard shift so I'll be flipping back and forth. I think I'll be reminded fast enough when I'm riding in the paddock to the track.

The harsh part when you click up when you wanted to click down is unsettling. Especially at speed. Stay hyper focused.

Used to put these on my track bikes; https://www.ebay.com/itm/266452292446?_nkw=gp&itmmeta=01J6E1CHYDCK7NAAVAT74NFJ3P

Right at the front of the tank. I found going to gp shift was easier than going back. It's a conscious thought now. On a fast bike it makes sense, tucked on the straight clicking down through the gears with the quickshifter is way easier. My first bike, 73 Norton, was right side GP shift. 4 gears. 1 down 3 up. GP bikes are N123456 (with N being at the very top) there's a lockout for Neutral, they have to press a button to allow it to go into neutral. Makes way more sense to me.

I think the more you ride the "swap" and go back and forth the more subconscious it will be.

I.E. MTB vs moto braking. Most of my moto buddies swap their brake levers from a bicycle standard to moto (front brake on right lever). I have kept mine standard which puts the front brake on the left hand and at this point if I have pedals vs pegs under my feet I don't even have to think about what does what. I can go from doing stoppies on the MTB, hop on a running moto and pull a stoppie or a rear slide with totally different brake position / controls without any active thinking in a 30 second span.

    Crazy how the mind works.

I will say, "upside down" shift is hard to be cognizant about, I had one moto with reverse shift that I didn't ride much that I'd almost always money shift the "2nd to 3rd" if I romped on it doing WOT pulls messing around cus I went back to "default" in that moment of adrenaline

I still have a bit of backwards braking on the mtb. Feel like I never pull the front as well as if it were the right hand.

But don't want to switch them in case I ever ride someone else's bike or get new ones.

just a couple of things tbh
yup most of my friends do not have true enduro bikes they all have dual sports. so its best to have something similar to it that can go on and offroad with them. now i could have gotten the dual sport version but there is a lot of pluses to the r model over the dual sport model so thats why i got it and im working on making it street legal.

Yesterday afternoon when I left work I noticed with the way the sunlight was hitting my front tire that it looked a little more worn than I would have expected. Wasn't sure so I took a closer look and found that my front is almost at the wear indicators in a couple of spots at only 10.5k miles on it. Last 2 sets went over 13k so this was not expected. We're headed to Maggie Valley, NC coming up and I don't think this pair is going to last that long so guess what I'll be doing this weekend. I have 2 new sets of tires in my basement but that was NOT what I hoped to spend one of my weekend days doing right now.

Wonder why the change in mileage? What are you running? I'm a do it yourself type dude, but moto tires are a legit PITA. My good bud has a proper tire changing stand, and a balancing stand. That's makes it a 2 beer job with a good friend = bearable.
