    2nd gen tacoma
Stock location has to be "modified" cut the wing brackets off with Sawzall...easy (no mechanic needed)..fits 285/75/16.less clearance around the pumpkin..255/85/16..more clearance around pumpkin.... reuse stock tire mount ... (you may need to deflate tire pressure in the tire if needed)

Same decision I made. It is relatively inexpensive, i.e. no need to purchase rims, yet. All you are doing is buying a "consumable" item, the tires, it won't be your last purchase of tires. They fit the wheel wells and the spare position without modification, however the spare is tight. Also you don't have to have the same size spare.

The use of the Spare is a temporary condition, and the differential can handle it just fine for getting to a tire shop. Think of the compact cars with the small spare tire they say to not run the vehicle over 55MPH with the miniature spares in use.

Nope, you can roll with a smaller spare as long it's short term. Emergency only. It'll get you home.

255/85/16 Wildpeaks AT4 would do the trick. They also come with the 3 peak snow designation if that helps...

This is what 33" Wildpeaks, and a 2" Lift looks like.

While I'm sure you were joking because having snow rated tires in Florida is absolutely no issue, Northern Florida actually did and does get snow. It's pretty rare though.
