You ever see that episode too gear where they see if it's cheaper to buy a car, then sell it at the end of your vacation and be cheaper than renting a car? I am at that point...

Lol I guess next time you should try penske haha. I've never had a uhaul break as bad as you have but they've all been sorta shoddy, trucks are usually okay though. Usually all the trailers with surge brakes barely stop anymore.

I wouldn't blame you. It could make the most sense. And worth not having the headache of dealing with UHaul's junk.

I was able to write off that my last bad experience was a one off, a rarity. When lightning strikes twice though... This will probably be the last time I use uhaul and go try Penske instead.

Not just does the equipment lack, the customer service doesnt offer a great solution. Yes they got us a hotel, and we did tow the truck here.... But now I'm sitting in a hotel waiting for uhaul to call when they find a solution...

How remote are you? They might have to find someone to ferry out another auto transport if you're pretty far off.

In termonton was broke about 80 miles north of here where there is NOTHING. So not exactly in a city but should be close enough to get a trailer from salt lake area? The last I spoke with them last night they seemed confused as to why I asked for them to bring me the trailer....

They look so fun. I was following a girl riding down one of our local, "go fast," roads and she was pinned, all tucked in, then she must've hit whatever top speed she wanted, which had to be around 60, and she starts fist pumping and celebrating, it just made it all seem even more fun. So often slow stuff driven hard is more enjoyable than fast stuff you never get to drive to full potential.

I guess. They found me a trailer in the most unlikely locations, 2 miles down a dirt road in the back of some field. I'm here and no one's here...do I just take the trailer....?

The newest Element is still what, 13 years old? A personal loan for one is also gonna sting.
Maybe choose a max budget you're comfortable with, then make a list of what you want out of vehicle and a list of what you won't realistically accept and start going through models that fit your lists to see what works in that range. CRV, Rav4, Mazdas, Subarus...will all be newer and less of a headache than an old Element. (or old anything)
And you can find little cult followings for almost any vehicle these days, people do cool, weird shit to things you never think twice about.
Maybe find a CarMax close by as well, in my experience they're good to deal with, you can get stuff shipped in for cheap or free and apparently their used car warranty isn't bad.
