so i have a 05 ac trd offroad stock suspension
I loaded up my 06 honda rancher 400 into the bed like i always do. but today it seemed like every bump in the road i was bottoming out the suspension. dry wieght of the atv is around 550lbs

So my question is what are some options i can do to help with this problem?
I was planning on getting billys front and rear to level the truck out but now im thinking i might need to add a leaf to the rear to help with hauling stuff
    whats your opinion?
    thanks in advance

there is a TSB that addresses this issue, but you are not eligible because you are outside the 3year 36k warranty. Your options are an add a leaf and/or air bags.

so with adding leaf will that lift the back end or is it just to compensate hauling more weight?

I had an '05 DC and with a load or back seat passengers it also bottomed out... the dealer wouldn't do a thing and I didn't know about the 'Rough Ride' TSB that would have fixed the problem for free.

I went to Off Road Warehouse in Escondido and went with the Ride Rite Air Bags by Firestone, and problem was solved! I have posted about this many times and included photos as well... do a search.

My '10 DC has improved springs from the Baja Tacoma factory and doesn't bottom out... But, I have my air bags off the '05 in case I needed them on the 2010.

He thinks his springs on his 2010 are " improved " over the earlier years of the Tacomas .

With everyone else complaining about bottoming out , David may have lucked into the best set Toyota made .

Do these "improved springs" happen to have the same part number as the old, shitty springs?

I know Toyota claimed they re-valved the rear shocks after 2008, so the TSB for 2009 and 2010 says not to change the shocks.....but I've never heard of these new springs...

NO TSB done, as it wasn't needed on my 2010 (so far). They must be improved springs (over the 2005) because the 2010 doesn't bottom out.... right?

    1) 2005 DC bottomed out with a load or back seat passengers, when driving over bumps.

    2) 2010 DC does NOT bottom out under same conditions.

SO: The springs on the 2010 are BETTER. The spring part number IS different on the '10 from the '05. The '10 was made in Baja California, the '05 was not.Okay, everyone got it now? Thanks for asking!

Or you could purchase a beefier spring kit like Dakar or Alcan.

So your rear springs are not part #'s 48210-04550 (right), and 48220-04190 (left)?

This may be a dumb question but does it matter which leaf pack you install on which side with the TSB packs?

I'm not positive why it would, but they do have different part numbers.

forget all springs and the like and just go with the Ride Rite airbags. They are adjustable. So when you want a soft ride you can dump the air in the bags to a low psi and when loaded you can increase the psi to bring truck back to level and avoid all bottoming out. Will take you a total of about 3-4 hrs to install and not a whole or more day leaving at the stealership or having to pull the axle down and inserting or replacing entirely the leaf spring basket.

I do have the Ride Rite air bags, so I do know what I'm talking about. I pull a 4100# travel trailer with with a tongue weight of 300 lbs and some misc. stuff in the bed and I can level out my truck in about 15 seconds with a puff of air and never worry about bottoming out or decreasing my vehicle handling.
