Clutch pedal was squeaking on my 2022 TRD Pro at 17k miles. Especially when feathering the clutch to back into the garage or start from a stop sign on a hill.

I squirted some WD40 on the pedal hinge point inside the cab. Didn't help so I took it to the dealer for a warranty claim. They replaced the master/slave cylinder for free but it did cost me 2 days lost use of the truck.

So if you're one of the few with a 6-speed, just be aware.

My 1985 GMC Sierra has the same problem, “fixed under recall” way back then, and it still equals.

    WD40 is not lube!

This problem has been going on forever. Greasing the pedal pivot isn’t the fix for the problem. Need to grease where the MC Clovis butts into the back of the pedal. That and WD40 isn’t grease. You need a tacky grease that clings.

I don’t understand why they replaced the slave, that doesn’t have any relevance to the pedal squeaking.

To be fair, slaves get very funky looking and very rusty, almost to the point they look like a sacrificial anode (not that it really works like that). So kinda not suprised they just replaced it, had to get to it to drain the hydraulic fluid anyways.

I’m sure a 2022 probably has its slave cylinder in pretty good shape. The TSB they likely performed doesn’t call for a new slave at all. But I suppose maybe they did it as warranty work and didn’t reference the TSB, possibly adding in the slave too.
