I kinda like changing tires in a masochist kind of way, ha

Michelin PR4GT tires. I'm really pretty shocked that this front is down as far as it is so soon. I will say that since I bought the second FJR that perhaps I haven't been as stringent with keeping an eye on my tire pressures so perhaps that's part of it but.......This set also has less 2-up mileage than the last sets so especially odd. I have a Nomar tire changer and Marc Parnes balancer set up so it's really just my time to swap them at this point. I had originally figured on running this set through the end of September and figured they'd need replaced after the Maggie Valley trip for sure. Seeing this and knowing Dianne will be on the back for the trip is why I'm going to change tires beforehand. I'd guess they could go another 1500-2000 maybe which would have them in the ballpark of the previous pairs but I don't want to be 600 miles from home and realize I miscalculated. I may even keep the rear as an emergency spare as it still looks decent. I'm just really anal about always doing tires in pairs on my bikes. The FJR tends to wear out fronts faster than rears for me.

I don't mind doing them. I mind that we'll be on a non bike vacation next week that I need to pack for and won't have time the weekend we return so now I'm pushed into doing them this weekend before we leave for our first vacation.

On the FJR forums several members host tech days where a group of owners get together and help work on each other's bikes so tire changes are often a part of that. I enjoy them under the right circumstances.

the No Mar makes life pretty easy. That's what my buddy's got and he's not 10 minutes from my place, so It's a win for me. I supply the mexican food when we're done.

Same. At the end of the day it's not that much of an expense, and you've already got the bike laid up, tupperware removed, tools out, time set aside....just do it.

I started off doing that, friend with a Nomar and I would help. Bought my own Nomar after having done several sets and realizing that having my own would be advantageous as his time was no longer being taken and coordinating time that we were both available was no longer an issue. With 4 bikes in the garage something always needs ridden or worked on. I just wasn't counting on doing it this weekend!

Nice. I found it pretty easy to get used to.

yup. I ended up switching all my bikes to GP shift, after going back to my daily with regular shift and accidentally upshifting when I meant to downshift for engine braking. Easier to have em all one way if possible.

Well, it’s a good thing. I said no to the first offer on the GSXR 750. They came back with a new value of $11,036. They’re gonna pay me $10,536 after the deductible. I am much happier now.

They paid you $11,036 for a 13 year old GSXR 750, that you even said had sat outside???? New ones are $13,150 MSRP. Good for you, but that insurance company is crazy!!

Just got back from lunch with a friend/coworker that rides to work on his KTM most days. We took my car, but when we got back I asked to hop on his bike for a second. As I was getting off his bike he's like "What happened to my tire?!"

Got some serious splitting going on. The other side, too. Looks like I'll be trailering him home from work a second time, lol.

Here's the first time I hauled him home. Was a warranty issue that time, I believe.

He better get back into doing daily pre-ride checks!!

Naw, I drive the wife's car to work. But the camper does usually live on the truck during camping season or between trips. If she needs the car, I'll commute with the camper. But my commute is 4 miles. Currently no camper on the truck.

Still looking but getting burned out with all the over priced crap. Riding season is quickly coming to an end here in the PNW

This is what I'm bummed about. Just got my permit and a bike and it's already getting darker earlier. Sun was blinding me the other evening as I was practicing. I want more 10pm sunsets please.

Still swamp ass season here. Ride today wasn’t too horrible…when a cloud gave some cover. Worst part was I got caught behind one of the oversized haulers going across town in the middle of the afternoon. Oof. It got hot real quick.
