Did your dealer include the washer?

They put a drain plug gasket in the oil filter box.

Can confirm they did the same for me. I opened up the box and pointed out it didn't contain the washer. Parts department gentleman reached under his desk and pulled out a bag of washers to give me one.

So, what are the aftermarkets options..........Purolator, Mobile One, Fram , etc? It would be nice to have a filter that was a little longer for more volume. I did this with my Versa for years. A Purolator Boss that was 1 1/2 times longer than the original.

I’m impressed the dealer pricing is super reasonable for these. During a sale I picked some up for $4.12 each. I also ordered washers too, like 1.02 each, and perhaps didn’t need to since most dealers seem to throw it in. Not sure if that’s official policy or what, but I ordered them separately to be safe. My filters didn’t have them in the box

Why? If you care enough about your Toyota to do your own maintenance, why cut corners? Besides, aftermarket options are more expensive! They are in my area anyway. And remember, longer isn't always better ;)

Agreed. Please use OEM filters (buy a few at a time) and change oil every 5k. That beast will run forever!
