Maybe some deals will pop up in the winter months. Sucks you lost the bike but that's a nice payout! One of my riding buddies has '09 750 he's had since new, looks sweet in the white/silver scheme

If I'm just cruising at like 55 or so, I can get up to around 13.5. 11.5-12 if doing 65. Towing drops to 10 or less. I've been as low as 6.4 doing 85+ towing my SxS and Quad. I'll never do that again, was drinking gas.

My truck is re-geared from the stock 3.73 to 4.56s, and I've only got 1 inch oversized tires. Empty I doubt I could get 14mpg on the highway as low geared as I am. But with the low gearing, I actually can use all 5 gears towing, instead of needing to lock it to 4th or below.

This is actually 1000 pounds lighter than above pic... but single axle made it sketchier... especially when the leaf spring broke...

I'm pumped about the WA weather right now. I'm going to be riding the F800GS over to Harstine Island to have an in-person fantasy football draft with a bunch of college buddies. Should be fantastic riding weather Saturday and Monday. Blast across the east side before it gets too hot, hit the pass around 11am, get a little chilly, then sunny weather out to Harstine.

Best part is I'll be going the low-traffic directions both times for the labor day weekend traffic. They usually head eastbound for the weekend and I'm westbound.

Just hit up the guy with a 2014 GSXR 750 with 1700 miles only about 10 miles from me. He is asking 8900 but I hit him at 8k. It’s been listed for a few weeks now. We will see what he says.

I think in the morning I am going to remove the Öhlins rear shock off the FZ1, install the stock shock, take it down to the motorcycle dealer and see what they will give me towards a new 2025 GSXR 750. They have one in stock ready to go. If I don’t like the deal I will try the other dealer (where I bought my Klx and Zx10r) and see what they can do. They will have to order it so it will be a wait for that one. After what happened with the 2011 I just feel more comfortable knowing that I am the only one who has ridden and taken care of the motorcycle. Am I crazy?? Well of course I am. Lol

The guy with the 2014 isn’t responding. I tried to reach out before and got nothing so I am not sure if he is watching his email.

Kind of looks like that tire is dry rotted. You can see a slight crack extending past he actual split. Did you look to see the manufacturing date on the tires?

Rare Moto commute day for Pearl.

Never really could before. As an air cooled bike, if you're not gonna run it up to temp, you shouldn't run it at all, with any regularity. My new digs are a few miles further from the office, so it's safe. I love my bike.

All ya'll have a safe holiday weekend. Remember, they're all out to kill you.

    :)

What make / model of tire and what was the date code on that thing cus that is a HORRIBLE failure!

Dont let my xt225 know that..... *hops on it to go the 0.7 miles to the market multiple times a week*

Realistically tho all motos fall in that camp... and cars, short trips means moisture doesnt get burnt off etc.

+1 Ride safe this weekend everyone!

Me personally, id say ride the FZ1 through the rest of your season, assess during the winter, then sell in spring of next year for more money... yall are going into the Non riding season (oof i dunno what that is) so no point to get a new to you bike that you cant ride.... not when you could wait a big to Christmas time and get the same or better bike for less money.

yuup the 10th gen civics with the turbo in them would actively have problems if you only drove them a few miles and didnt let them warm up by the time it was started and stopped. nothing likes short distances haha.

oh i was gonna ask you a question since you seem to be more knowledge able. can you take a look at this thread i started maybe you have an idea whats wrong with my truck? or maybe someone in here does haha.

(not bike related sorry! just trying to get other ideas to help me out!) https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/2015-sr5-transmission-issues.840974/page-2#post-30097709

It was more of me saying what the best mileage I can get with the camper is. I normally just drive 65. I'll do 70+ if I know where the gas stations are or I'm in a hurry. But then it starts dropping those MPGs...
