If you need another recommendation, HY-TEC Coatings in Waukesha is a shop I've used for years.

They offer sandblast services, good people. Cash/check only.

That USPS site shows "recommendations" for a post. They only recommend you not use concrete. I've seen posts that were made of brick and stone.

Then fill the mail box with concrete, too.

Relentless Fab hybrid bumper, 2.5” Dobinsons IMS lift, RCI skids and sliders, block heater. Painted FJ Steelies. Was trying to keep it stock, now slowly building for the Wisconsin trails.
Not well. A good amount of damage especially since I don’t believe he was speeding.

    Outside measurements
    16 1/2 wide
    5 1/2 deep
    8 1/4 high in front
    10 1/4 high in rear

It may require cutting the " fins" on the back side of the bed.

Mine has pre drilled holes for an ARB compressor but I can drill holes for my Viair compressor.
I've had this on a shelf for a couple of years now. Just never got around to installing it.
Just another thing to add to the list.

It also came with these spacers the go in-between the bed and the "box". You'll see why when you remove the cubby.

Expedition Essentials has a install video on there website. It will give you an idea on what to do.

Thank you. Now you got me going on another project.

Looks like theirs is 2pcs, which might make it easier.

After watching the install video it leaves me with other ways to approach it.
I think they were going for a one size fits all compressors.
With the viair I might not need to go 16.5" wide. Since the stock cubby has to get wrecked, anyway.
I might be able to keep it at 14"W, making it more like a sleeve and try to incorporate the existing cubby bolts into it.
    There's options.

If i was going through the work of building something, i would fully enclose it and put a door with a gasket so you can seal out all (or at least a majority) of the crap.

I thought about getting the mount back in the day for my compressor but with as much dirt and gunk ends up in those cubbies, there’s no way i wanted to mount a compressor there in the open.

I found someone (maybe on ETSY) that 3d prints little doodads that stick over the 'drain' holes in the cubbies using VHB tape. I no longer get water, dirt, and dust in mine.

    I agree.
The existing cubby is deep enough and wide enough already.
    Just need a skosh taller.

How hot do the viairs get?

Not hot enough to melt the stock cubby.
