Bad part is, anything Holley buys out goes to shit. QC always, always takes a dive.

That’s the story with most of the companies Holley has bought out. The difference is ADS no longer has control of the situation. Holley is the same kind of company as trail gear. Buy out companies, cut costs as much as possible even if QC drops and send it.

Magnaflow bought Camburg but supposedly the R&D and $ influx is supposed to yield positives…they have a lot in the pipeline

By no means am I saying positives can’t come from it. More often than not it’s more negatives though. I deal with Holley far too often, and can say from first hand experience. Their customer support is absolutely horrendous. I’ve dealt with 4 of their fuel injection systems this year alone that have had QC issues. And all 4 involved countless hours on the phone to resolve. Holley used to be legendary, but not so much anymore.

    Whole lotta stuff
At least they got a big ol’ shop space out of it. If anything so far ADS seems to be getting bigger, but I’m gonna miss the old school logo and smaller presence they had, since the sauce was all in the quality of their product. Hope the quality doesn’t go downhill.

This kit is on sale again if anyone is looking. Code "TOYO" still works too.

Anybody made the jump from king to fox and regretted it? I’m entertaining a couple of ideas and my dealer pricing for Fox is substantially better than king. Honestly the only reason it’s a consideration.

I’ve never had King on my personal truck, Always Fox. Most of my buddies and friends have king tho.
I think that Fox Have a bit better design and built quality, but the outer body is Pretty easily tarnished like most others as well.

Aren’t all of the factory race series cerakoted now? Even if they aren’t, I do it myself so it’s not a huge deal. I know for sure the oil is 10x better than king. Outside of that though, I don’t know much about them.

I don't appreciate how they list their shims and stacks but at the end of the day you can measure them the same as others.

Yes, the Factory Race Series is Cerakote now.

It's a little deceiving, but this only applies to their Race/Motorsports catalog. The Factory Race Truck/AM product is not Cerakote.

    A few key notes,

-Fox use SS 17-4 shafts on their FRS shocks. King uses chrome steel.
-Fox uses viton seals on their FRS shocks. King uses buna on their Prerunner series.
-Fox bypass come standard with 3/4" bypass tubes with overlapping layout. King uses 5/8" on their Prerunner series. King has been using overlapping layout in recent years but they traditionally use staggered.

This is an old article comparing the 2.0" C/Os but the same concepts apply across the board.
    https://accutuneoffroad.com/articles/fox-vs-king-2-0-coilover-shock-comparison/

These comparisons could all change with the King "Pure Race" series. I know there is a difference between that product buy my experience is more limited. Fox doesn't have different "tiered" product in the FRS catalog.

So basically the fox FRS are on par with king race series aside from shafts and oil?

I wouldn't use the term "on par" if one uses better shafts & oil than the other...

But the King Race series would be a more direct comparison to the Fox FRS, yes.

I say on par mainly because if the material they use for shafts works for TT’s it’s probably just as good. Oil can be changed at any point so it’s not a deciding factor either. More than likely can’t go wrong either way. Though I will say, king has been frustrating since the virus with back ordered parts etc.
