Bilstein shocks stock for non-TRD?

I was under the impression that the Bilsteins were not stock on just regular and SR5 model trucks. But today at the dealer, I checked and all the SR5's had them too. Was this always the case? Just a canadian thing?

 

All the trucks in Canada should come with the 4 leaf pack, so chances are they will come with Bilsteins. But they may not be the same ones that come on the TRD. What colour are they? Can you get a part number?

 

They looked exactly the same. Yellow and blue. I didnt get a part number, but down looking at them 6 inches from my face they looked the exact same. There was a TRD there too and I checked back and fourth

 

If so, this is pretty big in my decision to go TRD.
LIKE : Blisteins, tow package, plug in bed, seats
HATE: Hood scoop, bigger rims (lower mpg, more expensive tires)
Not sure its worth all what they say if the best part is already on the SR5

 

People have been know to sell the trd shocks for $50 on here, so I wouldn't let them affect a several thousand dollar decision.

 

TRD seats were a big thing for me... but then again, I never considered the SR5. If you are spending that much and plan on having it for many years... it's worth the extra money. Plus the locker is nice to have.

 

Well for a brand new set shipped here Im looking at a good 400-500 + install, so its a little dent in an already questionable decision

 

My TRD sport wont have a locker though

 

He noted the scoop and the larger wheels, so I think he's considering a sport. Sports do not have lockers.

 

Shocks are easy to install... so don't bother taking it somewhere, it's basically a few bolts. All you need is a floor jack, and a few basic tools. Save yourself a few hundred bucks!

Do what you like but people sell them on here all the time after they upgrade. Figure $100-$150 shipped max. Install is easy with hand tools.

Buy the trd if you like the other features enough. Don't buy it solely for the shocks.

 

Ah yes... well those are easy to get rid of. There are always people looking for sport hoods, and will trade you (plus cash) to get one. More money in your pocket!

Yup, just checked on the Canadian web site, and ALL models that are 4x4 have the AAL and Bilsteins

 

Don't need a garage. A floor jack can be had for less than a hundred. The only other things you would need is a socket set ($50-100), and maybe a ball joint separator ($15).

If you were on the west coast, I would offer to help

 

Do you have beer? I'm sure you could find several people on here who would gladly help you install shocks.

 

I will honestly consider that if we get it, but I dunno how we will make the swap lol

 

lol true, wont matter anyways, I guess they try to shove the Bilsteins down our throats on every truck here in Canada

 

dont confuse the yellow and blue bilstein with the bilstein 5100s (silver).

 

Im 100% sure the shocks were the same style/color/size. I just didnt check the product number
