Really though plasma tables have become really cheap

Unfortunately it's introduced some people to them that really should stay away from metal, or computers in general :bananadead:

CPC kit arrived 2 days early

Along with a free CPC cable someone from the group hooked me up with so that's an easy $80-90 saved

    Installed and ready to go!

Just need to buy a machine torch now

My 110 volt welder came with .30 wire and that's what I continue to use in it.

i've got issues tripping my garages 20A breaker with medium length passes with 0.030. 0.035, it trips even faster. 0.025 does work better, but needs longer slower passes to make up for the smaller filler wire, so i end up going through more wire.

I need a table for myself. All these parts took 20 min out of 1/4"

Are you using an extension cord on your welder?

So I did have a question or you and the other plasma table folks.

How good of a cut quality can I expect in 1/4" plate? These pictures were brand new consumables and the guys settings he found best.

He has the eastwood 4x4 table. In my uneducated opinion the hardware should be able to do much better if he took the time to dial everything in more.

Dross just comes off, at least that should flick off easily with your fingers

However, I will say I can cut 1/4" and have the whole part come out dross free

The thicker the material, the less dross you should get

Oh, Im not too concerned about the dross, I guess my main issue with these parts is the taper they have and how ugly the interior corners are. Causing fitment issues with my tabs

Thats what I figured, I will be getting a table next year and just wanted to make sure the ceiling for part quality wasnt that low. I havent seen many pictures of people cutting 1/4" in this thread

Means his shit is not dialed in

I took this cause someone had asked me about fitment and all - these parts were right off the table without any clean up

It can be very low, if you don't take the time to dial it in

With a much more expensive setup, some of those factors are somewhat remedied for you

I dont consider that an issue, Just wanted to make sure the hardware similar to that could do better on thicker materials.

Thank you and @koditten I'll be asking plenty of stupid questions when I get a table.

I do have to figure out how to have the table usable in freezing temps. I work in the shop when it is 15 degrees sometimes

The one thing I find myself repeating more than anything in one of my groups is to "dial it in"

New thread pops up asking how to fix this or that, and several regulars will tag me saying I'm about to come in and tell him/her to dial it in

Some people hate hearing it, only to learn at one point or another that it does indeed require time and work from the end user.

I've seen some shit cuts on CNC plasma, and I've done plenty myself (not as sold work, as experimental), and its just like welding.

When you see a defect, you learn what it is and how to correct it based on experience alone.

Based on your pictures, I can say travel speed is too slow based on the bottom dross. The lead-in, especially on that big open circular cut, is way too short because you can see the "nub" due to the lead-in length and lack of radius to it. You can also assume that the torch height is either incorrect, or the torch is a tiny bit angled, or both in order to get some beveling on new consumables. Lastly, the feedrate was the same in those sharp corners (in the rectangular slots) as the rest of the piece hence why it didn't burn the metal completely out.
