    @Speedytech7
    @Wulf

    Not being very knowledgeable in the world of solid axle swaps, y'all told me about spotting those shitty hack jobs that end up super tall with a leaf spring front

    Why would this coilover/linked setup sit so damn tall?

    It's still using the front frame section from the factory, it can only go so high. Some of this could be personal preference as you can see the bottom of the shock body is still lower than the frame... This could be made better, could be someones first try, the coilovers not being vertical is interesting too.

    Just interesting to see the height of these trucks vary greatly from a suspension standpoint on these SAS trucks.

    Seen a few others on FB MP and none stood out except this one being tall AF.

    14" COs are probably way too long for the way everything is set up too, could probably drop it 4-5" with shorter COs/different mounting even with the stock frame if the axle was pushed forward a bit. am I trippin or is that the factory front sump oil pan?

    Looks like it

    I ask cause I'm always curious to learn what's fucked up or what isn't with SAS varying so much from one build to another

    I guess everybody is staying home this weekend. Gas prices are continuing to fall.

    there's a lot of ways to do it, and a lot of variables to account for...and a lot of them are done lazily lol

    like the factory frame Zane pointed out. notching the frame or building new rails from the cab mount forward can pick up a couple inches of clearance, otoh there's enough room to raise the 3.4 like another inch for oil pan clearance... but then you get into having to do more trial and error and custom building

    the path of least resistance is most often traveled

    I'm planning to go the ill advised route of keeping the front lift to 3" or less if I can...but that will involve cutting a ton of chit and making some compromises
