Looking to upgrade my head unit to an oem one with CarPlay. I currently have a 2017 with OEM Audio. Will the newer style with the harness work with the OEM Audio harness as well?

For the cost, if I were replacing head units, I would go aftermarket. There are several newer companies that offer attractive options, but I would probably go with an established brand, probably from Crutchfield for the amazing support they offer (depending on your experience level). That level of confidence and support is priceless.

I was in your shoes a month ago. The problem is that even the newest OEM head units that have car play are decent at best and still require a wired connection (no wireless Apple or Android car play). And, for the price, you can actually pick up a Sony or Alpine unit that will retain all steering wheel and other functions and obviously sound better. I wanted to keep the stock look, so I picked up the Alpine ILX 507 kit from TrailGrid Pro. The Trail Grid setups are easy because the Maestro unit (the device that gets you the steering wheel and other controls) is already setup. Installing is like a 30 min job.

I bought my Sony unit from TrailGrid Pro also, really impressed with their setup on the headunit and how responsive they were to email questions. 20220419_160406_HDR (1).jpg

I have the same unit. Can the reverse guide lines be edited? I want to remove the stock lines and resize the aftermarket guide lines.

I never heard about what you describing. Where did you buy the unit, from Trail Grid Pro? You contact them if that the case.

You can resize the aftermarket lines but you can't eliminate the stock lines.

the stock lines are part of the camera itself, you would need to change the camera to get rid of them
