Those environment friendly fuel containers are a joke and makes it almost impossible to fill anything

I've got a 5 gal tuff jug with their patented Red fast flow valve . This fuel jug will dump 5 gal of fuel in under 45 seconds

:oldglory: Good morning Porch Pals & Sue! Happy Labor Day weekend, and the start of college football. Don't really like all these re-alignments, but it will make things interesting. Physical Therapy for neck in about an hour.

:pccoffee:  sixtys/wannabes/gasoholics. We supposedly had rain last night but you couldn't tell by looking at our gardens. Weather forecast is for 30% chance of this and 50% chance of that, but chances seem to be good that none of it will hit here.

Gas cans: I buy "NO-SPILL" brand. I get them at Ace Hardware but they're available at other locations too. The spouts are simple and easy to operate. No leaks during transport. Gas doesn't exactly gush out at the most rapid rate possible, but I tend not to be in that much of a hurry when I'm fueling the lawn equipment anyway so I don't mind. They last a long time too; I've had them for 20+ years.

I still have good old Chilton cans, probably had them 30 years. Probably the best cans ever made before the gubment got involved and screwed everything up. If it ain't broke don't fix it. There's all kinds of kits you can get now to replace the stupid "leak free" spouts with a basic nozzle and vent that will work on just about any plastic can made.

OK. here's what I'm playing with!
    upload_2024-8-30_13-28-55.jpg

    And the solution, I THINK!
The cap on the left is the one that was starting to split, the one on the right is still OK, but trying to prevent it from splitting also.
The black and green parts are from the top from a small round parmesan cheese container , the top from a small round jar of Pounce cat treats will also work . Had to remove some of the top and cut down the plastic threads inside the cap and it fits perfectly over the original caps. Put a bunch of epoxy on them and glued them onto the old caps which should really strengthen them and solve the problem. If not, I tried, and then it's on to plan B!

Afternoon gentlemen, I have one of the new gas cans and the spout leaks gas all over! Spout is horrible, so I just pour the gas (without a spout) from that can in to my old one to fill up the mower and voila no leaks or splashed gas.

    Sue!

I do the same with a new "latest greatest" gas can, but these "old" gas cans are what I transfer the gas in to and I need them to be in working order. Also, when I get gas for the garden tractor and zero turn I normally fill up four 5 gal. gas cans, two are cans like this and the other two are plastic, and of course none of the other spouts from other multiple size gas cans interchange, they all have different sizes and threads!

I fill 5 gallon plastic Chilton cans and transfer that into 2 gallon plastic cans. I quit using metal cans when I was a young man working as a power equipment mechanic. I saw to many problems from rusty metal cans. And it's worse today with Ethanol in the fuel because it attracts moisture. Do yourself a favor and ditch that metal can. Get a 5 gallon plastic can and change the crappy spout they come with. Ventless cans suck!

This is just like the vinatge can I have. I can't use it until I find a proper cap.

This what I have been using for the newer safety government leak-o-matic cans to fill my mower and tractor...and also my old ford explorer farm truck.
Very easy... some of the newer cans may have a screen inside that you remove and replace in order for the pump to fit.
$13 + batteries. Thank me later.

    Evening all:
    Just learnt something new!
Often wondered how people managed to buy stock in private companies before they go public.
There are both accredited investors and qualified investors who must meet a certain minimum monetary criterion to be able to do that, never knew that and found it interesting.
I'm on the puter too much!
Just saw where Caterpillar is going to start producing a PU truck, the pics. of it look really good and it may be a big seller.

    Several engine options:

    5.0 turbo V8 gas
    6.7 turbo diesel
    3.5 V6 gas hybrid
    EV
Starting @ 65K and up to 90K for the fully loaded diesel.
It is one good looking truck, too bad Rivan didn't design an EV truck to look like it, IMO, the Rivan front end is flat out ugly! :puke:
I would think that both Rivan and Tesla's cyber truck are going to lose quite a few sales to the CAT EV truck, could be wrong though! :notsure:

This info. is all over the internet, wondering if it's "FAKE NEWS" or real! :notsure:

Today is starting out at 50*, but then heading to the low 90s. Got to get some early yard work in before it heats up!
Our double garage door had a spring break…UGH! I finally managed to get it open so my lady could get to the grocery and butcher shop. Nearly killed my back! Double insulated doors are HEAVY! The repair man showed up about 4:30 on a Friday before a 3 day holiday…GREAT GUYS! An hour later it was all done ready for another 25 years…hopefully!

We are hiding out at home until Monday, then target range.

Everyone stay safe, take care of your bodies (and they will take care of you), and have a wonderful holiday!

    Morning all:

:(, good looking truck though, would have been nice to see it happen, someone took a lot of time to produce the video that I saw about it and there's a lot of info. on the internet about it.
At least they could have waited until April 1st to post it!
