Mud puddle was deceivingly deep. I don't think I could've made it through, but I didn't really try. When the front end dropped into the hole and water poured over the hood I shut the engine off with lightning reflexes before it could suck water in the intake. Used the winch to pull myself through.

The driver's side tires were completely underwater. They're 33's.

Had 6'' of water in the cab on the driver's side and a 1/2'' on the passenger side. Stripped the truck down to the bare steel today and let it all dry out. Thankfully we had a really windy day and it dried in one day.

A guy who was fishing nearby came over and said that an F250 on "tractor tires" had got stuck in the same puddle earlier that day.

After I got it out and opened the door for the first time I had a comical "water dump" out of the truck. I mean at that point all you can do is laugh.

Fishing for the winch line. Good to know that the XRC works underwater as well.

After I pulled the interior out and yanked the drain plugs.

I pulled it out of the truck, pressure washed it, hit it with carpet cleaner, and hung it out to dry on a very windy day.

Yea there's really no other option than to just roll with the punches. I choose to engage in this sort of activity knowing that it has potential for stuff like this happen. This is not my first go around with offroad mishaps.

That winch has gotten me out of so many bad situations, it's paid for itself over and over and over again. Most highly recommended mod for anyone heading offroad. As soon as I build my tire carrier I'm probably going to install a winch in the rear as well.

What a clean-up job! At least you had a winch and didn't have to beg anyone for a tow out.

Did you do the rear differential breather mod???

If not, go have the differential fluid inspected for contamination!

See link in my sig for the easy mod to save your rear (end)!

Already changed the diff fluid; it was going to be due to be changed in 10K anyways. The rear diff breather has been on my list for a long time, but I generally avoid mud, and I have very little free time and never felt like driving to the dealership to order the parts.

    Definitely doing it now though.

Some forest land adjacent to Fort Leonard Wood. I couldn't tell you the street names or anything, but there was a biker bar right where you left pavement that served the best burger I've ever had.

What is it with people's obsession with deep mud holes. I recall passing a mudhole full of a bunch a yahoo's all with their hoods up pulling their dizzies apart to dry them and get the truck running again. There were 4 rigs like this and they mocked me as I drove by and laughed at them. Don't get me wrong as I'm not criticizing, just pointing it out. My similar move was flexing my jeep hard one day and flipping it on it's side. That was $500 plus of repairs, excluding my time. Windshield frame, windshield, steering column, some paint, and hammer and dolly work. Took a while to get her healthy again.

Hope she goes back together well for you and didn't fry any electrical stuff. Looks like you'll be busy the next few evenings.

That's pretty deep! Could have been worse I guess though. Good luck with the clean up!

A little of this and a little of that.

It was all worth it if you got a good burger. :D

Good luck with the clean up, sounds like you've got it under way.
