    1. Do some research on Toyota's frame replacement program for Tacoma's, as it relates to your year.. Lots and lots of content on this sire.

    2. Take it to a dealer and have them inspect the frame and have them tell you what your options are.

    3. If you want a second opinion on the dealer's recomened action, ask us.

It's hard to tell from the picture the state of the frame. A common place for the frame to develop rust is near the catalytic converters. When a frame is badly impacted in those areas, there will be holes in the frame in that location.

Do some research and then take it to the dealer to understand your options before you make a decision on what to do.

The dealer looks for holes in the frame. You might want to crawl under there and tap it with a plastic mallet before taking it to the dealer. Judging from the few pics you posted it might be toast, possibly repairable if not warrentied. Toyota wanted the trucks brought in for an inspection and goop application a few years ago to warranty frames for 12 years I’m not sure if your warranty would be void if that wasn’t done. Hope it works out for you

Thars a crying shame that they would "pass" that frame. Its seriously eaten up with rust.

Interesting that I went in to my local dealer and they would only book me later in the week for a frame inspection. They did offer me Kelly blue book value ($18k) on the spot for the trade if I buy a new one…

That's the sway bar (aka stabilizer bar or anti-roll bar) and it's at full diameter. You're seeing the paint flake up and lift away from the bar surface. There's nothing to do.

Frames typically fail by developing large holes next to the catalytic converters (see red arrows). Yours will probably turn out ok during inspection.

In that case with only 110K on it, I'd throw some bucks at it and get another 150K or more out of it.
