Well.... that was less than fun.... Was leaving my house to go to walmart to get a arm brace (torn ligaments in my arm). As I was getting close to the exit of the neighborhood I heard what sounded like fireworks, then it was rapid fire bangs. I see my kids running from the park yelling "there is someone shooting!"
Grab the kids into the truck and speed off. We turn into their friends neighborhood because the friends ran a different way and we needed to find them. They were not there, we turned around and headed to our house thinking they may of ran that way. The kids and some of the parents of other kids were there screaming and crying.

I went back to the park after police set up a perimeter and they had about 100 officers there. Told them I had 5 kids in my house that all saw it happen, he said come back in like 30 minutes to give statements. These are some pictures from when we were giving statements.

I got it all on my dashcam, but im not going to post it as its just my kids crying and screaming that they had a gun and were shooting people. Whole neighborhood is locked down for the past few hours.

 

Guess we need them here. lol. Wow. To think that you actually have to put a sign up for something that obvious.

 

Dang man, I'm so sorry your kids had to experience that, but did you find the other kids? Is everyone ok?

I had a similar situation happen to me and my son at one of our local parks years ago and it took him a while to work through what happened that day.

 

Yep we found their friends, they were at our neighbors house with the rest of the parents. We all hung out there for a few hours since the police locked the whole area down and we could not get them back to their home.

We have parts of the story from the people who were shot (my kids friends parents were helping the victims and got some info.
Seems it was more or less a hit. The shooters ambushed them while they played basketball, the shooters were in the treeline on a hill. All victims were highschool, assuming the shooters were also highschool.

 

Damn! Hope everyone is okay. That’s definitely some scary stuff. Please keep us posted (just saw this, so I may be late, but I sincerely hope everyone is ok).

 

An old friend owns an auto graphics shop. He gave me enough flat black vinyl wrap to do my factory scoop…twice (in case I messed it up).

I’ll take that as a compliment considering what I’ve put the truck through and that in live in the rust belt

I just spent a week cleaning and applying rust proofing to the undercarriage. I used the opportunity to straighten out my skid plates and get the right sized spare.

 

Looks really good for living in the Mitten. I undercoat too, but my undercarriage damn sure ain’t that clean. I blame living on gravel and dirt roads haha

I made a sliding Maxtrax mount just to be extra.
Only reason for it was because I wanted to keep them on the passenger side, but want to be able to open my DB cover and at the same time not have the Maxtrax stick further out past the tailgate.
It does have a little wobble, so I might still have to bungee it to keep it from flopping in the wind on the highway, but only one way to test to find out!

Thats terrible. I’m sorry your kids went through that and am glad they all are not physically harmed. did any of the bad guys get caught?
Just saw a report..five shot. That’s legit. Their aim is way better than in New York. Good for them!

 

It was on the rack when I was there. Got a safety inspection and transmission oil changed. Getting ready for a 8 week road trip cross country and back.

 

Good for them? Wtf?

 

So sorry these kids have to deal with this crap. A drive by took place around my kids baseball club game, seeing the video of the kids fleeing the field was heartbreaking.

After that event I put together some “active shooter” or trauma kits for each of our vehicles. Fairly inexpensive to put together but I’m glad it’s there now in the chance I need it.
