That’s what my wife and I make, it’s delicious but lots of work. Just had it a few weeks ago and bringing it with me to AOAA potluck.


We need to have a pot luck meet!

 

I should make some before I tear my kitchen apart next Thursday

 

Down for a pot luck meet. 3 bears then potluck at my place? Maybe in november?

 

I'm picturing crock pots bouncing around in trucks for two hours and everyone's interior looking like they went through a mud bog with the windows down.

I'm down. My AOAA is going to probably be chicken Mozambique.

I can make stuff ahead of time and then vac seal and boil in the bag to heat up. But yeah crock pots bouncing around the trails would be hilarious.

We use the recipe from cooks illustrated. I make my own chili powder mix but it’s basically the same.

If you don’t like cilantro then don’t add it
Over rice or with cornbread are my go to but you could put it on a flip flop..

 

This is it, ill see if I can dredge up a recipe but I just kinda wing it lmao. The gist is pork shoulder skin on, garlic cloves salt pepper paprika and whatever else to taste mashed with oil in a mortar and pestle, 1" cuts in the meat and slather that shit on to marinate overnight, then like 6 hours of cooking at 350 and cranking the heat the last stretch to crisp the skin up. I'm really condensing here lmao

 

Condensed but damn accurate. And covered with foil during the roast until the end

 

Yes! Super important since you're pulling the foil off to crisp that skin at the end

 

Lol I want to make a sliding spare tire hoist for my bamf rack for when I wheel. I always put the tire in the bed when I wheel and sometimes on the farther trips it gets buried. Would be nice to be able to just lift and slide like that ahahahahaa

 

Wrenching on my new truck for the 1st time today. It got it's 1st oil change

 

How was it to do? I am still waiting for the day when I work on a 3rd gen Tundra, or a 4th gen Tacoma at work.

 

I mean, it can be done…

 

It was easy. Pan and filter are pretty accessible. Had to move the active spoiler down and take the "skid plate" off then everything was right there.
Only thing is, I don't think manufactures listen to their own torque specs. That oil filter was on there damn tight!
