I got the upgraded AAA service and I’m gonna tow it to a different shop after the weekend for a second opinion.

If they confirm it’s a bad engine, there’s a guy with 60-70k mile JDM engines down in Dallas who seems to have a good reputation, and they’re around 2800 plus shipping. Or there’s higher-mileage junkyard motors for less than half that.

I also posted someone’s farm truck 96 yesterday with a tough body but apparently y good engine for 5k.

In any case, I’m gonna see what I can get for the sliders and leafs. Trying to sell the truck, I tell people that those along with the tires/wheels and various other parts are probably worth a couple grand alone, but that doesn’t seem to compute with them.

How often do y'all replace the oil in your air compressors?

    Once a year?

Think I should grab some and change it soon

Look at the bright side. It could be a 04 Civic with 121,000 miles that's been in the family since it was new. It was a good little car when it was, and now it's not. It carried one kid through school in Fayetteville. And another for years. I remember when my mom gave it to my daughter when it had 24,000 miles. She drove it for about two weeks and said to me, "Dad, it's a nice car, and I appreciate Grandma giving it to me -- but I'd rather drive my 99 I30 (4th gen Maxima) with 250,000 miles because it has more get up (VQ30) and go and a better stereo (original bose). She didn't know I had sound deadened when her brother had it.

I don't want to put any money into a car that I don't like. Honda's make me crazy to work on them.

Thing has been tough. Going to have to rework our downpipe one more time I think, which I'm pissed about cuz it was so fucking close. Even did a hard line turbo drain which I'm happy we can leave alone cuz it was kind of hard.
