I've never seen that variety of avocado before. I prefer CA hass.

 

Not as tasty as the Haas, good for making guacamole. I'm going to look for the receipt on what specific variety it is. I don't think it's a "Lola", my neighbor calls it that.

 

Receipt says it is a Lula avocado. Bought it grafted 6 years ago.

 

I tried to grow a Hass Avocado tree in AZ a few years ago, but the summer temps were too much for it. All the leaves dropped. I think I got it at Home Depot. A few local nurseries recommended trying some of the Mexican varieties as they're more heat tolerant, but I settled for buying bags of them from Costco.

 

I used to watch this guys youtube channel "growing your own greens", think he was out your way, maybe So CA. Arid and dry area. Was always into the new watering systems for his raised beds and fruit trees.
AZ is hot as Hades, 100 days in a row of +100 degrees. I remember burning finger skin touching a steering wheel one summer out there.
I know those avocados dont like that treatment.
Costco is a monthly run for us, gas, meat, fish, and lunch!

Nice! Two varieties? Wow, the canning looks nice. We've only "mastered" the vacuum seal to freezer option.

No kidding. Im happy with the small amount fruit i get from my stuff

 

started as a tropical fruit farm hobby, have multiple trees 3-5 trees sugar apple, java plum, malay apple (green and red), sapodillas 4 varities, jackfruits, star apple (karambola), black sapote, thai white guava, pink guava, avocados 6 varieties, seedless thai white guava, bananas, canistel, peach trees, pakistani mulberry, mulberry, figs, persimmons, oranges, papayas, lychees, lemon, lime, kalamansi, dragon fruit, passion fruit, jaboticaba thenw e found out if we plant at least 100 trees of the same fruit we get tax deduction and can apply for agricultural tax sowe planted 340 mango trees in a high density plantation 12 ft apart.
