Well i finally got to go shoot the xd 40 at the range the on a little date saturday cool chick to run to the range she shoot a glock and it was a blast. So i went down to gunshow today and picked up the SA xdm 40 4.5" plus a half carton of ammo can not wait to get to the range to start practicing away. My only fear is I think this is one step closer to becoming a texan since i now have the taco and a gun....ooh no i'm losing my philly roots.

If you wanna pass along some info about the gun or some local ranges in the DFW area appreciate it.

Congrats on the purchase. I have the same handgun and LOVE it! It will serve you well.

If you feel too Texas-y, I will send you some Tastykakes to bring back the Philly.

Congrats, I have a SA XD9 and I love it. My friend has a SA XD45ACP and that's great gun too. I have never shot an XDM40.

PA has way way more liberal gun laws than Texas...

Only thing really off limits in PA is Courthouses, Jails, Casinos and Mental Hospitals.....

and in Texas off limits places is way larger and you guys dont have Open Carry.... http://handgunlaw.us/states/texas.pdf

If a homicidal maniac is looking for a gun free zone, looks like Texas is the place to do it since the honest people won't be packing when they take their kids to school or the amusement park. Or goto church, the hospital, a nursing home, a sporting event...etc. Sounds like Texas gun laws effectively give the ne'erdowells a lot of hunting grounds. That's pretty disappointing for a conservative state.

But we can kill someone who enters our home un-invited, immediately, no questions asked.

Also, our vehicle counts as our home so we can carry in our vehicles, concealed, with no permit. And we can kill people in it.

And most people who own a gun have their concealed carry license anyway. The class is only a half-day and you get the license very shortly thereafter....no worries folks...
